Our Successful Transformers Cross-Promotion Sales Story!

Strong Response to Our Transform Your Ride Cross Promotion

I am a BPG store and we were scratching our heads trying to figure out what to do for the current Transform Your Ride event. We had thought we would see a little better finance rates...we didn't.

So we bought 100 tickets to our local theatere to give away with any test drive and in exchange, we STUFFED ( square peg in a very narrow round hole ) a Solstice GXP in their lobby. ( Pics below )

The reaction has been so strong that I now rotate sales staff to stand in the lobby and answer questions!

The Solstice "went" 48 hours ago and we can link one sale directly to it already.

Anybody else (sales folks) do anything that you would like to share?

The doors and door jams had to be taken off the building for us to get it inside!

Sounds like a good way to do the promotion. Nice to see them taking the cars to the people as opposed to waiting for people to go to the cars.

Great Job!!! That is the local dealer driven grass roots stuff you need to make happen. There is a lot of great product at GM. If they won't come to you, GO TO THEM!

Way to go! Now that is a smart cross promotion. I am glad it is paying off so well. Hopefully more dealers are as creative and resourceful.

When Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift came out, a Toyota dealership held a Scion car show and we had the entire theater to ourselves. It was a cool event.

Yeah, dealerships should do cool gimiks like this, especially with the new Transformer Movie.

Very nice. Market Square (an upscale shopping center) in The Woodlands (just north of me) had a section leased to a local Chevrolet dealer who displayed several vehicles for all the shoppers/movie goers to inspect. Last time I was there it was gone though.

Thanks for all the positive feedback so far!

Yes! As I mentioned we took off the doors and door jams and had a whopping 1/2 inch total clearance. Probably a very good thing our insurance rep was not around!

Don't pat yourself on the back just yet.
You still have to get the car back out!

Re: Our Successful Transformers Cross-Promotion Sales Story!

This is a great idea. I work for GMCL here in Oshawa. Were doing a movie
promotion where we are showing the movie at a drive in and having some cars on display.

As a kid of the 80's I can't wait for this movie so it's interesting to hear the older people try and promote it. None of them understand the ChevyAutobot website the US built but I think it's great. And it targets the younger generation perfectly. I had to assure them it's a great idea and that it's generated so much buzz.

Re: Our Successful Transformers Cross-Promotion Sales Story!

I just saw the movie. 5 stars (out of 5) Long time fan of Transformers also!!!

But all the ppl I went with to see it said they either wanted a camaro, or wanted that solstice. I'm bringing my friend tom to go look at one.

As a GM Fan boy, they did me proud! Thanks BAY! * * * * * (5 stars)
