Need Engineering Advice
I really need some help. I am a Junior, Mechanical Engineering major and have applied online at gm.com to their intern program. I did this not two days after they opened the site for submissions in August. Its now mid-September and I haven't heard anything from them regarding if I got the position or not. I did get the email that says that they received my resume and information. I don't know what to do from here. Anyone else here been through this before? How long does it take for me to know if I made the cut or not? Texas Tech University is not very informative on anything automotive. When we graduate they would rather us work for Lockheed/Boeing or for an Oil company. The only automaker at our job fair is Toyota, thats only because they just opened that new plant in San Antonio. Do I just keep waiting? Will they call me? Email me? This is probably the most nerve wracking thing I've ever done.

Re: Need Engineering Advice
If you really want the job you need to contact them and see where everything is at. I had the same issues with Boeing and Cessna looking for a full time salaried position and when they didn't get back to me I just let it go (I already had an offer from General Dynamics Electric Boat in Connecticut). So I would say send an e-mail or find a phone number and call it to see where everything is at.
