GMS Pricing/GMAC Lease Rates

Few Quick questions...

1)Do dealers/salesman try to avoid people buying cars at GMS pricing? Is there any negotiation room with the GMS price??

2)For the salesmen out there....Do you know what the current GMAC lease rates are? When I went to order my car, our salesman gave us a lease rate that come to find out was marked up quite a bit. I want to make sure that that does not happen when I pick up my new car!!

Help me prepare....

Re: GMS Pricing/GMAC Lease Rates

If it's a lease you will never know the rate as it is not written anywhere on the contract (in New York).

Yes, it can be marked up.

A dealer would be foolish to discount the GMS price unless it were on a demo.

You don't put Rent Charge on the lease contracts? In Michigan they have to, and with Rent Charge you can back calculate the Money Factor, which leads you to the Interest Rate. Of course you'd have to know if that rate was marked up.

Depreciation is also listed on ours, which allows a back calculation of residual.

Re: GMS Pricing/GMAC Lease Rates

It really depends on where you live. The GMS price is the price. They show it to you and you sign off on it. On the lease it can be bumped a point that is what we do.

Each state has its own rules so it is hard to tell you.
