GMAC additional mileage charge?

I've noticed that GM only seems to advertise 10K per year leases now (that sucks). Anyway is there a general rule of thumb I can use to figure out how much more it would cost for 12K per year and 15K per year?

Any help would be great,

Re: GMAC additional mileage charge?

We'll if you get a lease with 10K, and go over, they charge you (typically) 20 - 25 cents a mile at the end. If you buy them up front, it usually costs you about 10 - 15 cents, again (typically) this is not exact. The reason is the way that it is calculated is based on residual value, which varies with every car (percentage) and every car has a different MSRP.

Re: GMAC additional mileage charge?

if you pay the milage up front its cheaper.....Im in Canada so here is its 6 cents a KM, before and 12 After...meaning, if you do your lease and 'buy' the milage up front you pay only 6 cents, if you turn it in overmiled its 12 cents..

YOU can however up your milage and roll it into your payment at anytime during your Lease EXCEPT the last year..so if the first you you notice you are going over, you can go in and buy hte milage then, and just roll in to your payment over the next 3 or whatever years. Instead of a big bill at the end...This will also lower you residual...(amount at the end)

Re: GMAC additional mileage charge?

New York

10K lease is .25 at the end. Cannot buy miles up front.

12K lease is .12 up front .20 at the end

15K and up is .10 up front and .15 at the end.

Don't forget the sales tax on the excess mileage charge as well.

Re: GMAC additional mileage charge?

The 39mo and 10k mi/yr is what they will typically advertise on their leases because it is almost always the cheapest lease.
