    Dealership Interview Questions

    Hello, I have an interview coming up a dealership in a few weeks, and I'd like to know the exact questions or kinds of questions that are going to be asked to me during the interview process so I may be better prepared. thanks.

    Know the product inside and out (if a chevy dealership, study up on chevy specs, etc), be enthusiastic and make a neat appearance

    study up on options, engine choices and different packages. like LT or LS or SS
    etc...

    i know i could be a decent salesman, i lack people skills, i dont have patience for people, which is why i work on the cars, the cars dont talk to you so there is no stupidity involved. but besides that i could tell you about every GM car inside and out.

    Is your heart beating? If so, you're in! Dealerships really have it good when it comes to sales people. If you don't sell, you starve and won't last. If you're good, you both will make money. That's it in a nutshell. It's not hard to be a salesperson....anyone can do it. To be successful- that's the key. You will learn that in time. Hopefully you have enough cash banked so you will be able to survive until you start selling. Good luck!

    I talked to a new (one week) Toyota salesman last week. He was given minimal training, and hadn't sold anything yet. Felt sorry for the guy. Just got back from Iraq after doing 3 years in the infantry. A very intelligent and thoughtful person; not a typical glad hander at all, and not comfortable in the job. He told me he doesn't even know the prices of the used vehicles, and the doesn't get into prices of new stuff. His job is to narrow the focus to a particular vehicle and turn the customer over to someone who closes the deal. This guy gets told what his commission is on a deal without knowing how it's computed. Is this normal?
