Re: new Camaro SS hi-po version spied outside testing facilities!

For some reason I can't see the larger pics. Can someone pull them over for me? I'm running in Opera, but have the same problem in Explorer.

Re: SPIED: 2010 Camaro SS?

ls3=ss, and detuned lsa (500hp) for a zl-1 if chevy wants to go gt-500 hunting.
Any engine above a ls3 would put it out of reach of the market its intended for, as the people that would be in the market would be challenger srt8 and people searching for a very equipped mustang gt.
One thing also is that any engine above a 3.6liter, for a base model would put the price in the 22-24k range (24k being a entry point for the mustang gt). The normal 3.6 would price 18-21k the intended price range for the market.

I can't help but wonder why GM would paint stripes on a pre-production test car??

That was my exact first question.

First, hello to all on these boards! I sure hope ya'll enjoyed the pic.

Regarding why they put the stripes on it (whether it be vinyl or paint), one of our members used to work for Ford. He said some of the design team members who built Mustangs would toss some decals on the prepros just to see what it looked like. Another guy supposedly took home body panels and painted them red. Could it be some of the guys just wanted to see what it would look like? Maybe they want to mess with us? I really don't know.

BUT...I'll tell ya'll this. It came straight to my cell phone this morning at about 0145 hours from one of our memebers out in AZ. Everything this memeber has told me MANY, MANY months ago has begun to come true w/in the past few weeks (shots of the black prepro, etc.)

The PS thought had crossed my mind when I got the photo, but why go through all that trouble and then not want to take any credit for the pic find? And, look at the hocky stripe...the sun is hitting it at the right angle. It looks real to me. On top of that, this is an angle we have NEVER seen before. And...one of our members who is on the site and has been verified by Scott as working for GM, did nothing to debunk anything about the spy shot. If there was something "up" with this picture, it would have been said.

My only hope is that the whistling sound he said he heard at idle was actually a SC!!!!

Makes me wonder as well why he didn't choose to take credit for the photo. it could be he is secretive and wishes to remain annoymus in case he thinks that GM will find him somehow. However this is a good shot and you should tell all of your members that live In Arizona to keep an eye out for this test car

You don't really need to drive a car (and thus risk exposure) to see how stripes would look....I think they're just teasing us all!!

The car looks better every time a new pic comes out...

6.2 LSA 550hp-SS-CTS-V engine

However, if GM is extremely stupid and uses the normal 3.6 it will probably be this
3.6 V6 265hp-Base
5.3 V8 350hp-Z28
6.2 LSA 550hp-SS-CTS-V engine

Wasn't 300+hp V6 and 400+hp V8 already confirmed by Ed Peper just the other day?
