No.
Hated it when I drove one all summer. Worst car I ever had too. Talk about a white knuckle ride, and a total death trap.

Re: Should Chevrolet Bring Back the Metro Nameplate?
The Metro is selling well because of supply and demand. I've looked on autotrader and don't see ANY of the Metros that were good on gas (3cyl manual). One of those cars in driveable condition is a RARE find.

Re: Should Chevrolet Bring Back the Metro Nameplate?
Aveo has a bad reputation (especially with Chevy fans) for being too unappealing as a car. Everyone knows what a Metro is. My only concern is that the stigma of the Metro as a cheap, disposable car is still alive.

Re: Should Chevrolet Bring Back the Metro Nameplate?
Nah I was stabbing at the old X-bodies!
I didn't think the "Chevota Corova" was around long enough for anyone to notice! It only lasted 3½ years before being replaced by the Geo Prizm. Btw, I'm quite fond of the "Nova" name and would like to see it return one day. But so help me G-d, I'd disembowel the first moron that tries to perpetuate that "Novas weren't popular in Mexico because Nova = No Go" myth. Quote:
Maybe if GM had a talented head designer born AFTER the Civil War... And frankly, I don't see what all the fuss about Lutz is about. He produces some good designs, but not anything fantastically so. Giorgetto Giugiaro has more in his pinky finger than Lutz has in his entire... well you get the idea. And that's because Giugiaro can design anything from a city runabout to a Hummer. Lutz is haplessly stuck in 1960s Americana, which he does well, but it terribly limits him as a designer. |

Re: Should Chevrolet Bring Back the Metro Nameplate?
One thing that gets me is that alot of people keep saying NOVA for a small car name, but, you know what I think of when I hear the name NOVA? Doesnt scream fuel efficient to me....

People who are "into cars" are outnumbered at least ten to one by those who buy solely for practical purposes, or know nothing about cars. Joe Schmo could give a rat's a** less if Chevy's new compact carried a traditional name or a new one. I'd love to see a wide availability of small, funky, utilitarian family wagons like the Fiat Doblo that are available to European customers. And Diesels. And Fiats. And so on... But I realize that I'm a minority voice and my needs and wants won't be addressed by carmakers. |

By all means.
Subspecies could include the Metro Nash, the Metro Sexual, the Metro Maxx, the Metro Minimum, and the Metro Metric.
