The SEMA theme this year is "American Muscle". There will be alot of cool past and future muscle cars!

That theme title is pre-mature by a couple years at best. I think they should have saved that theme idea til after the Camaro & Challenger came out. Then I would agree w/it & thought of it being more appropriate theme title.

I was wondering the exact same thing yesterday. It's frustrating to me. How is GM going to get out from under the perception that all they sell is gas guzzlers and trucks, when every single vehicle they took to SEMA had a V8? As a matter of fact, the smallest engine other than the ugly Lucerne's was a 5.3 liter V8 if I recall correctly.

If the theme is "American Muscle," that doesn't mean ONLY V8s!!! Why not reveal the production G6 GXP? How about the Equinox SS/Torrent GXP, or the HHR SS (which will probably be popular with the SEMA-type crowd)? Aura Redline anyone? Souped-up Corvette?

I realize they want to emphasize the new trucks and other newer models, while de-emphasizing models like the Grand Prix GXP and Impala SS, which might be on their way out the door in a year or two, but it seems like there are plenty of ways to show American performance besides just V8 trucks and SUVs. (And in spite of the above rant, I really do like most of the trucks and SUVs that they brought to the show, especially the Silverado SS 427).
