They should renovate/expand the Cobo Center so the facilities can better compete with the other major autoshows in the US and around the world.

I hope the 9-4x gets the 9-3 Sportcombi taillights. That will look classy.

No, it will look Volvo-y.

I agree... COBO is a dump compared to other shows ammenities, especially Chicago.

I just go to Chicago now ... everything is on one floor and easy to get to, plus it has a great view of the city and the lake... plus it has better places to eat inside and offers visitors at least some places to sit down with tables and chairs to rest.

Ahh. We aren't going to see this vehicle until like forever. I hate how GM has such a large gap between introduction and retail sales. They should minimize this gap and get the vehicles on road as fast as they introduce it. Talk about creating a lot of hype, and then not delivering the vehicles until a year later.

Re: Saab 9-4x To Debut In Detroit

Yes, I can see that launching a Saab SUV-crossover thing at Detroit would make sense, after all, North America will be its main market. What surprises me is that we haven't seen any disguised mules yet.

In fact, there don't seem to have been many GM NA mules spied at all of late. It is as though product development has somehow dried up - or the General is getting better at hiding stuff . . ..

So, just what "good stuff" can we expect from GM at Detroit and Los Angeles? I am having difficulty figuring out just what is coming and when.

I guess the NAIAS should be held in LA then? There are only 3 problems there:

1. It is in Southern California AKA- Northern Mexico.

2. It is in the fall when most of Los Angeles tends to be on fire.

3. Everything would have to be in ESPANOL and there may be a problem with people sleeping in the vehicles.

Why do I have the feeling you have never been to Detroit.

Hopefully, Detriot slim resources would go to improving schools and lowering crime instead of the Cobo Center.

Aside from it being -10 when i was there two years ago, I would agree.

Cobo is going to get an expansion in 2010. How big is being discussed. Also Detroit is the home of the Big 3, regardless of media opinion big announcements will be made in Detroit.

Just as Frankfurt is "the show" for most of the German Autmakers.

Think BLS/9-3 relationship probably. I expect one will sell in America, the other in Europe. KINDA makes sense, but it would make more if they let each brand focus and just build great vehicles rather than doubling efforts (not THAT much efforts given the "effort" put into BLS)

No, the 9-3 Sportcombi already looks a bit Volvo-y. It would actually look like a Honda CR-V. (Not to say that it still won't look classy.)
