Detroit is still the most important show in the business. No matter what L.A. or Porsche think.

Re: Saab 9-4x To Debut In Detroit

Well the 9-4x main market is going to be the US, so Detriot makes sense.

Too bad it will be unveiled in Detroit, and then we won't see it for another year probably.

I wonder if this vehicle will be an idea of what to expect from the Cadillac BRX?

Re: Saab 9-4x To Debut In Detroit

So Theta, being a modified EpII platform, will debut before anything that is actually on EpII?

Re: Saab 9-4x To Debut In Detroit

if we see the 9-4x in Detroit, I'd expect to the the BRX then or NYC.

EDIT: maybe we'll just see a "concept" and the real version will be shown a year later, with it going to market just after that?

There are only three problems:

1) It is in Detroit

2) It is in winter in a place with bad winters

3) All of the trouble-makers who come to the show, damage the cars, and make it a place to avoid

I found this on another site. It was reportedly sourced from a meeting of Saab dealers that recently took place in Sweden.

Too bad we have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show to see the 9-4x. I hope it looks good though. Can't wait to see it!

January isn't all that far away guys. I think you're all going to be pleasantly surprised with the good stuff that's coming.

Yep. Plus LAIAS is just in November now, so that will tie us over until NAIAS.

I don't see it holding up its place for long. The Detroit facilities suck compared to NYC, Chicago, and LA. More and more product launches are skipping Detroit. Like someone else said, it is Detroit and no one wants to visit it.

Re: Saab 9-4x To Debut In Detroit

Sounds exciting. This platform sounds promising, and I hope to see more vehicles on it (a Buick below the Enclave, an Equinox replacment, and maybe a sporty Pontiac similar to my "Rage" concept)

Now, the BRX is supposed to be a X3 competitior, so I'd expect the X3/BRX/9-4x to share a basic shape.

I hope the 9-4x gets the 9-3 Sportcombi taillights. That will look classy.
