It's a great looking car... but as usual GM is late to the party. Actually I was interested to see what was happening with sales of Mustangs and Challengers, now that gas is $4 a gallon. Ran into these...

I've been a V8 fan forever... I won't bore you with how many Corvettes, GTO and 442 convertibles I've owned... and I'd still buy a hotrod V8, if it was designed to be practical enough to do more than be a weekend car, and get the gas mileage of a new Corvette.

Last new weekend toy I bought was a 96 Mustang GT convertible 5 speed. I loved the car, but it depreciated $10K in 11 months and 5K miles. Had to trade it on a new GMC... just to get rid of it... and that lesson is still fresh on my mind. The only convertible I'd buy is a 5 year old Corvette, since it's already depreciated 50% of what it cost new.... and there are tons of them around with low miles.

This is depressing to me. I'll be really interested to see if these ever make it to market... and in what quantities they sell. As usual... wrong product to the market at the wrong time at the wrong price... and since it doesn't sell the way they thought it should, they blame US.

While gas prices may be affecting the Mustangs sales some, keep in mind many who may have bought a Mustang may now be holding off to see the New Mustang, Challenger and Camaro.

Re: Production Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Revealed!

Come on.... Who else sees a Trans Am screaming to be let out of that body and put the Camaro's styling to shame again.

Ya know what???? THAT is how GM can avert the "not so fresh" look when it FINALLY makes it to market. Everyone has known what this car will look like for almost 4 years now. Weeeeeeeellllllllllll, to get people excited about the architecture in 2 years when Camaro sales start slumping, bring back the Firebird with a huge NAIAS unveil and 6 month release window of end of June on the lots. Pull back on Camaro builds and boost Firebird that year. Almost how they play with the G6/Malibu/Aura production numbers... When the Malibu is hot they go into full swing.

Lutz, Wagoner.... time to go to the retirement home.... You've left your keys in the fridge one too many times.

Please tell me the more aggressive lower front will make it to production, it completes the vicious look of the headlights.

Note to GM: Put the Camaro Emblem on the front Grill. NOT THE CHEVY EMBLEM.
