New Production Chevy Volt images!

August 14, 2008

Today General Motors released two new renderings of the production Chevrolet Volt. GM executives, in dire need of a smash hit product, are quick to tell the press that the car is right on schedule and will arrive in 2010; maybe sooner!

Re: New Production Chevy Volt images!

Wow! I really like the front. Imagine if GM could also sell this car on its looks, unlike the fugly Prius and potentially equally fugly Honda Insight.

More proof from GM that the Volt is not some pie in the sky concept. I love the transparency coming out of this company these days. The Camaro development process was awesome and there was still enough stuff left at the official unveiling to surprise us. I'm impressed and hopeful.

Is it just me or does the Chevy bowtie get bigger every year?

I like the "fan blade" rims, but I'm going to need a few more "VOLT" badges. Three just aren't enough. Maybe put some on the roof, so people in airplanes can see that you're driving a Volt.

I have a lot of faith that Ed Welburn and his crew will turn out a much better design than Toyota has with its admittedly different take on the hybrid with its Prius.

cool. Are the "halo" headlights going to be a new Chevy design? They are optional on the Camaro too.

... there's two on the sides and one on the back. Not a big deal.

It could be a lot worse. GM's 900 hybrids have 9 badges.

Those 50 are prototypes... He was talking about availability to the public.

I hope this car does well. GM keeps tooting its horn about the Volt. If the Volt fails, GM is in serious trouble.

Malibu, I believe, is down to 12 from 14... (Chevy emblems)

It would be a challenge to build a less attractive vehicle than the Prius IMO. However GM did do Aztek. Hopefully there's no one left at GM that let that loose on the public!
