While GM is certainly to blame for many of their problems, there is not denying that the magazines have delighted in bashing some of their cars needlessly. I canceled Motor Trend when their article on the Solstice spent half the time bashing the Fiero from 20 years ago...like the 1986 Toyotas were real winners.

Sometimes I wonder what interests car magazine companies hold in imported automobiles.
Imports are so overated. I have owned quite a few and every one where boring. No character.Horrid perf and looks. If I had to sacrafice a small amount of quality to save some money and have some fun then thats what Ill do.
back in 04 My mom bought A loaded 04 taurus. A gorgous car with a lite price tag. This car was loaded and she paid 17k with the 100k mile warranty. At the same time a friend of hers paid 19k for a 01 Camry 4cyl that couldnt get out of its own way and had 56k on it and she paid 19k.
Are they really worth that much more? No way.
Just like the new toyota truck. Its nice but the price over compensates for its refinement. For what you pay for a loaded toyota capable of hauling 9800 PD's you can have a Ford Power stroke capable of towing 24,000 pd's. Which one is a better value?
If people where willing to pay as much for a domestic car the quality of that product could equal or surpass the competition.
Dollar for dollar domestic cars are better.
And as far as reliability goes I have had nothing but great luck with GM cars. My 95 Z28 has 200k original miles and runs awsome. I have a friend with a 93 Formula that has 230k original miles on the engine and transmission and its cammed. It gets beat on daily.
All of my GM products have stood the test of time with nothing more then routine Fluid changes.
