Re: Let The Awards Continue!
I'm stunned. GM has got their mojo back, I'm thrilled...Can't wait to see what the future holds. But what I'm really worried about is where they are getting beat. I got into an argument about Corvette v. Viper today. Once I told the guy that I barely see what they are doing to make a viper better when they come out with a new one, and that a 650+ HP Corvette was coming he shut it and tried to start talking about a Charger. Well of course I responded that the Pontiac G8 had that covered. But still one point in this argument stood out, the point where the guy said "Well corvette just copied off the viper" made me realize that this guy really wasn't worth arguing to anyways. Pure Ignorance,...Ahem, but Hopefully the ZR-1 and Camaro will shut the Viper-bloaters and Mustang-mouths up.
And Next time I need to make sure I'm arguing with a "Car Guy".

The Matrix's problems to me aren't that it's plain, but it's shape is softened in places compared to the crisper Vibe, and the front end is typical Toyota-bad. I prefer the original Vibe front end to the 2005 update, but they are both way better than the Matrix front end. YMMV. |

Actually, the only Camry and Corolla I find attractive are those with the GFX.

Re: Let The Awards Continue!
I wish they picked the best car for each class, that way mid-size buyers could look at the Ten Best and say well the Malibu is here but the Accord isn't.

Agreed......allow us to savor it just a bit. Here's my dream - to see those three plus a GM compact on the list.

Re: Let The Awards Continue!
That's great news! Both the CTS and Malibu are amazing cars. What about the G8? Was that a contender to be part of the 10 best? From all what I read in the press, they like it, so how come that's not on the list?

I see a great deal of anti Japanese sentiment here and frankly, I'm delighted. Now if someone would condense this book into a readable size and challange the great mass of American consumers to read it, I think we might see the Japan, inc. steam engine slow to a managable speed.

The new Chevy Malibu on the other hand may not be world class but it's surely is a solid contender that puts the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry which are the Malibu's main competitors to shame in terms of exterior design, interior design, and overall luxury. I certainly don't think that saying that the new CTS is a world class luxury car in it's respected segment is stretching the truth at all but I admit that I was a bit off to say that about the new Chevy Malibu although it's a solid family sedan from GM. |
