If the movie takes in a boat load of money, sequels are guaranteed. That will put Bumblebee and Co out there right in time for the new Camaro to land in the showrooms.

I saw the movie last night and ti rocked. I left quite satisfied especially considering it was based on a bunch of plastic 80s toys. They certainly left it wide open enough for a sequel but it did not finish unsatisfactory.

Considering I've never seen an ad on TV or otherwise EVER for the Kodiak & Topkick, I predict a big sales spike from this movie. I don't know the MD truck sales numbers, but I'm guessing even a few hundred is sure to be a big percentage increase.

I love in the trailer of the movie the dad brings the kid to the Porsche dealership. He thinks he is getting one, but then he just gets pwned!

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

Good god that movie blew me away for sure! Had drama, your little love scenario, sweet cars, comedy, sh@#t blowing up everywhere, the whole works. Easily Bay's best movie ever and garanteed to be a multiple award winner. The crowd absolutely loved too. Felt like a kid again when I was walking back to my friends fiero, expecting it to transform. Definately a go see.

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

Just saw the movie. One word...AWESOME!!! Being in the military, I noticed some pretty stupid inaccuracies like "DEFCON Delta". But I went into this movie not expecting it to be perfect. Sure there are a lot of cheesy parts. But who cares? It had action, humor, and out-of-this-world special effects. Everyone is mentioning the product placement. I didn't notice it too much, but then again, I am a GM man. Don't get me wrong though. I certainly noticed that Camaro. I own a 2002 35th Anniv. Ed. SS. It's my baby and I never even thought about getting rid of it even after seeing the new Camaro. I must say, I'm going to start doing some research. I don't know if I want to pay the initial markup that is inevitable on it, but I'm seriously considering selling my SS to get the new one. Seeing it in action just brought out that primal male desire to stand up, grunt a few times and pound your chest.

I also really love how they made the new Mustang GT500 the bad guy. Great move GM or Michael!

I don't often go see a movie a second time in the theater. I may with this one. I'm also going to buy it on DVD the day it comes out.

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

Saw it yesterday with a bunch of folks from work.
It was great!

Hearing the voice of Optimus Prime in the intro gave me goosebumps. I was suddently transformed (haha) into that 5 year old kid watching it in my parent's apartment in Van Nuys as a little child.

And then the rest of the movie was actually better than I would have expected. The fight scenes were a bit much, and I gave up even trying to figure out what was going on in the end.

Though when Optimus started kicking Decepticon butt with his energy sword, that was a treat. The fight between him and Megatron was just too hard to see details in.

I want to see it again. It was great.

The cars were awesome. No other car manufacturer could have made this thing work as well as GM. Solstice (Jazz), Camaro (Bumblebee), Hummer (Ratchet) and whatever sort of GMC truck (Ironhide) was were just great.

And the ending was cool. I can't wait for the sequel. Maybe more time among the Autobots. Hearing Bumblebee speak for the first time was a great moment as well.

And even though the Mustang was a bad guy, he still looked very cool :-)
Though Bumblebee as the new Camaro was the definite star of the show. Beautiful car that new Camaro.

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

I haven't seen a movie in over a year, but I'm going to see it today. I heard they have AC130 gunships, V-22, MH-53's and F-22's in it, so that coupled with all the GM products will make it a hit with me.

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

As someone who grew up worshiping Transformers the film was satisfactory, but left a bit to be desired. It was entertaining. Good luck being able to tell WTF is going on in the last half of the film. It definitely needed more Spielberg influence and less Bay.

TF was an excellent showcase for the 2009 Camaro though, in fact it makes me want one in that same gold hue with black stripes. GM can call the combo "Bumblebee" when the car's released.

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

I just got back from seeing it and I'm very impressed. The special effects are incredible and I just saw on the news that it set an opening day record yesterday of 27.4 million. The GM cars and trucks and
Air Force special ops had plenty of good air time with this movie. Way to go USAF and GM with this movie.

[quote=Karlog]Saw the movie at 8pm last night. All I can say......HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Product placement everywhere, and the movie freakin rocked. You really have to enjoy loud explosions, stunning visual effects, and enjoy the history of the toys from being a kid. Oh yeah, Megan Fox isn't bad either !! Highly recommend the movie.

I agree with everything said above- especially the HOLY CRAP part!!!!!! Move freakin rocked!! So much to say........ Just GO AND SEE IT!!

Re: GM's Transformers "Roll Out"!

I went to see it today. Tickets were sold out for it 5 hours in advance for all of the showings! When the new camaro came on screen I heard a bunch of the "Thats sharp" whistle going through the theatre! The movie was amazing! Im am seriously going to look at the camaro instead of a silverado now. Prob going to still end up with a truck though because I like the room in it.
