If diesel wasn't so high, maybe they could've stuck the 4.5L Duramax in everything. Even if they kept the prices the same, I've gotta believe they would still make a lot of money.

Thank god, useless ugly POSs that did nothing but bring down the image of a struggling company. God whoever came up with the idea of producing military vehicles for civilian use was an idiot.

Naw, I think the rich folks like GMC enough to keep 'em afloat! I am thinking about a new Savanna big van for myself! They are downright nice!

About HUMMER, they ain't my cup o tea, so I don't care too much.

It cost GM a BILLION to close Olds? GM=PLUM STUPID!

Re: GM Pulls the Plug on HUMMER Effective Immediately

People want a wrangler fighter. They should be able to get pretty good mpg out of that.

Very short sided.

I bet GM made a ton of money on them.

If they close down HUMMER, they can probably spin it with something like "As a company, this is a step that truly shows our commitment to making fuel efficient vehicles that meet the needs and desires of America."

Re: GM Pulls the Plug on HUMMER Effective Immediately

If the Jeep brand can survive, so can HUMMER.

There's no reason to pull the plug on vehicles like H3, H3T and H4. Even "green" Toyota offers similar SUVs. Keep it a niche offroad brand.

I just don't get it. Any Hummer model's fuel mileage is comparable to any other vehicle made of similar size by any other manufacturer.

Jeep survive? Chrysler is in even worse shape than GM.

Re: GM Pulls the Plug on HUMMER Effective Immediately

Why not sell it instead? I'm sure it's worth something at least..instead of killing it. Although, there was no point to the brand. A Hummer used to be about off road ability, now it's just a jacked up half ton.

Good riddance.
