Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

Hi!

I haven't been watching GMI for a long time, but now I must say that this looks great, I'm drooling...

But then I'll again strike in my stupid question: what does that terms "w" in engine mean, naturally aspirated or what?

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

The Nomad is for me. I have worn out two (2) foreign three doors waiting for something from Chevrolet. The entire line-up appears to be light years ahead of production models and shares a common "DNA" in appearance. I am waiting for my Camaro Convertible, but I would be proud to drive any of these.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

so who did the renderings on these pics??? they look amazing. i remember seeing something at naias in detroit the year before the camaro concept came out, it was a pic of the old chevelle and it had soe hint that it was coming back. that looks like a very sweet line up. i dont like the look of the impala that much but everything else keeps me with chevy. looks great.

They look great, especially the Cobalt.

I do have a problem with the Bel Air. It looks like it came right out of the Cars movie. Theres something about the headlights that reminds me of a bug.

You kinda have an F430 thing happening on the tail lights of the 'vette with the humps above them. At least you didn't cut open the decklid to expose the lights like the F430. Subtle but agressive, I like. Kinda like the lights are bulging out. Again, I am extremely impressed.
I asked them that question when the Pontiacs came out. ChevroletRevived told me no 3D programs used, just Photoshop.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

Even though I'm skeptical how much of this lineup will materialize on the showroom, it is very encouraging. If the Impala LTZ with the 360 HP 6.0L engine was available now, I would not have purchased a Magnum R/T. But the LX cars are currently the only game in town for RWD V8 4-door daily driver performance.

I love the malibu, caprice, and impala styling, i'm not so sure about the cobalt maybe it will grow on me. I don't care for the corvette styling, they changed the front end to much . Also if chevrolet is keeping both the beat and the aveo why don't they just consolidate them into one model the Beat is a great name for both of them. Wheres the HHR?

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

Again, the team deserves acolades for their effort and the final results. If 5 Stars was the best rating, they have earned 10.

Now my concerns:

A few of the concepts look as if the rear wheels are wider than the front. It's not practicle and makes them look less realistic as possible, which I believe was part of the exercise.

The Impala dash was way too plain, once you get to the right of the driver instrument pod.

I'd give the Chevelle, Cobalt, Volt, Malibu, Caprice and Impala 5 Stars out of 5, but I'd question the need for the Caprice. I'd give the Corvette 4 1/2 stars, because something about the front doesn't look right to me. If I were to change the Impala, I'd give it the Caprice front, instead of the raised front it currently has. I love the Chevelle.

I'm not too subjective about little cars, so I won't rate the Beat or Aveo.

The work of the Revitilazation Team makes me proud to be a GMI member. Thanks Guys.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

The Cobalt looks great;
The Bell Air/Nomad looks a little heavy in the nose/grille, but would be otherwise awesome;
The Chevelle is the best of the lot, and a hot 4 door version should be exactly what the next Impala should be;
Not sure about the others; the Malibu might be getting too large, and would take sales from the Chevelle/Impala, which I think would be the strongest seller at GM by far;
The Impala shown here is too boxy and shows way too much Chrysler 300, if you ask me, and the Caprice looks like a carbon copy of the Malibu, although I suppose it's supposed to be bigger --

As great as all these concepts are, there are too many models here for Chevrolet to be successful with. I think that the Volt technology should be put into the Cobalt and Malibu, the Chevelle should be the 2-door and 4-door Impala, and I don't think that the Impala and Caprice as shown here would end up getting built.

Now that I think of it, it would be very hot to make a convertible out of the Chevelle as shown here, and make that the Bel Air...

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

It was pretty dangerous to use similar hues, but this:

could have looked very much like this:

How ever both do extremely well at still demonstrating their respective markets. The tail lights and boot lid on the Saturn even look very similar to how I would expect the next gen Astra to be extracated from the current Vectra mules that have been spied.

The whole line up is a credit to the Rev team. Congrats!

....I'm dissapointed that there is only 2 wagons, but I'll also bet that I'm the only one that is dissapointed.

My fave? the 2010 Impala. It may look to have a little Charger/300 around the bluff grille, but really it just has a lot of BAS in the design. A slightly taller glass house than the 300 helps to distinguish it accordingly. I still prefer the commodore but hey, this is for your market, not mine.

That's because Fbody used the same donor car for both. The 'tell' is the 'b' pillar and the dark far side rear wheel. Look under the rear at the shape of the hole in it that you see the view beyond through. And look at the floorscape behind the far side front wheel.

But hey, in real life they would share a GM platform and thus should have the same core dimensions.
