Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
yeah. the malibu interior is a cross between CTS and a Taurus and XF.
Not sure I like it.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
Its good but not where I thought it was going as far as style. I think they stayed to safe. Now I wholeheartedly hate the idea of putting the Caprice on anything Front wheel drive. Name it Lumina or hell anything else but not a Front driver, they already drug the Impala through the mud so to speak but they're making up for it. Don't do the same to another name plate. And if it must be on Epsilon make it a Rear biased AWD car. I'm sorry just burns me up to think of the Caprice being a Front driver. And is it just me or does the front of the Impala look like Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Design gets my vote
Everything else was kind of a dissapointment. There are way to many engines and they all vary in hp. Some refinment in that department wouldn't be a bad idea.

Let's now hope that this is close to what the future holds for us.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
I really like the Cobalt.
It will really play well in a market of dull - me too - look alike designs for entry level cars. The Caprice, Malibu and Impala will be some unbeatable triplets if GM don't screw up!!!

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
Thanks for putting this together. It looks great. The only one I have an issue with a tad is the Cobalt. It looks a lot like the current Civic. A 505 hp Impala will be a nice surprise if it hits the streets.

With the Beat, Aveo, HHR, Cobalt and Volt I really think they have enough of the market cornered. Plus, lets not forget that there the Astra it you like a European taste.

Nice work, ChevroletRevived, Fbodyrules, NSAP, and camaro_freak. Your dedication and enthusiasm are much appreciated!
There's little to quibble with, though the Corvette screams "Yikes!" to me. I think Sgt Beavis captures what's off about the exterior design, though. (The suggested powertrains are spot-on, though!) I must be missing something, but what distinguishes the exterior design of the Malibu and the Caprice? |

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
The Corvette reminds me of an early 2000's Sunfire from the front. The design execution and work is absolutely great but its just more of a look a Cobalt SS driver would want rather than a Vette driver in my opinion.
The engine selections don't seem to necessarily go along with trim models and to offer so many options for all the cars would be expensive and confusing for the average consumer. Impala jumps from a 3.6 to an LS7? How about a 5.3 or something to close up the gap? Also, I don't see the need for a Caprice and an Impala in the same lineup. I really like the bel air! great classic/modern look to it-best of both worlds. The Malibu front end kind of reminds me of what you did with the Aura and I really like it. Gives it a cool, aggressive look without changing a whole lot-but the impact is really noticeable. The Aveo has a much better look to it also. I've always gotten a cheap, plastic-like impression from the car and it doesn't really go along with what kind of image Chevy is trying to restore. The way you made it look gives it a young, refreshing look that could definitely fly. Great job with everything-my positive thoughts def outweigh the negative, the negative were just easier to pinpoint. |
