Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I would agree. I would still love to see a new Monte Carlo, it's a very important name, but perhaps that's what you could call the coupe/convertible version of the Malibu, and call the Sedan/Wagon the Malibu.

Come to think of it, you can probably scratch the Stingray too. It is redundant with the Pontiac and Saturn, that's all we need, no need to bring another Kappa into this. Maybe call the next ZR-1 the Stingray, maybe leave that name to rest, whichever.

As for the Nova, I would still love to see that name carried on in a new model, but like I said, unless you can figure out how to make it viable in the lineup without being redundant, don't do it.

I don't know, it might work. I just can't see how it will work and be different from the other coupes. You have Camaro Coupe/Convertible, the Corvette Coupe/Convertible, and to a lesser extent the Cobalt Coupe. What would a Monte Carlo offer over these coupes? I could see a Malibu wagon and Maxx though.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

Is there anyone else who dislikes the thick bar across the front grille? I think most Chevy vehicles like the new Malibu would look considerably better without this particular design element. I am glad the upcoming Camaro won't have one...and it's much better for it. Also I would prefer the "bow-tie" to be a bit smaller and a not "golden." Just my $0.02.

So, kind of like the Chevys of the 90s. Those were the days.

IMO as far as looks go the bulbous front end its thick bar is the only unappealing visual element of the new Malibu. Historically there have been many great Chevys without such a bar so I don't know why you would look selectively at the 90s. But there will always be differences of opinion I guess...variety the spice of life.

i just love to see concepts and then the realization next to each other. wait till 2010 and see what cars actually make it to the switch over and how close they look to these.

this is a great direction for the bow tie. love cobalt's sporty aggressive look , it needs to be able to shed that plain compact look.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup

Although im not the fan of evolutionary design, i have to say the rear of the Vette is simply the best. It has something from the Cien look. Then again, i dont like the front that much, maybe because after seeing some glorious masterpieces in the Corvette Concepts history (Indy, CERVIII, Manta Ray, Mako Shark) this just doesn't give that typical Vette look. In my view this look is to be seen on C3 (Stingray) and C4. This could be more dramatic, show more power, more stance, but for the rear ... woooow
Oh and i don't think it should share any of the Chevrolet themes!!!! It was always on its own concerning the looks.

just by curiousity i would like to see a mid-engine design from the same artist! because this is work of art. and this Corvette is one of the best looking cutting edge design interpretation of the Corvette theme! (only the rear!!)
So about this mid engine layout...could that be done?

the Impala is very classy, it has a certain new Chevy image, that's underlined by that incredibly simple yet pronounced belt line. The proportions are also excellent.

the Nomad and the Bel Air are just awesome. Classical American styling meets the boldness of the 21st century. Great proportions here also, the rims match the entire vehicle and are fabulous.

Great job guys, exceptional work! Congratulations!

all these cars have the same front grill design. why dont they change it up a bit? they should make the chevelle look just like the 70-72 chevelles, and not make it look like a malibu or impala. dont get me wrong im all about chevy but the mustangs look better the the new camaro.

No offense, but if GM were to make a lineup like that then Consumer Reports won't be the only thing that would destroy General Motors...
