Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
I really like what I saw overall. Just one teensey little thing please, would whoever it is that made the automatic transmission standard on the LTZ version of the Aveo PLEASE reconsider? There ARE some of us out there, that would like the upscale duds, and would still like to be able to shift for ourselves.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
And I would like to request that T-56 (or equivalent) manual tranny be an available option on at least the V8 versions of the RWD Impala. If a 6-speed RWD 6.0L Impala was available and reasonably priced, it would without a doubt become my new daily driver. If I hit the lottery between now and then, I'd even spring for the 505 HP SS version.

The RIA team is making some adjustments to the Corvette. Look for an update early next week!

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
Great line-up, I think the headlights on the Impala look wrong - too big, swap them for the ones on the Chevelle or Volt (if not the whole front) and you've go a winner.
Small cars are great (as is Chevelle) - now just to get them on the road!!

How can people say the cobalt looks good because it looks just like the current civic coupe. Are you saying you would rather buy the civic over the balt.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
Impressed with the photo sh/chopping - except Impala looks kinda long in the tooth.
I like the horizontal/flat plane surfaces on the Corvette - how it slopes to the front wheels. Why no price range/spec for Chevelle? And why would a Chevelle have the same proportions as a Vette? It looks like it's 52" tall. The rule here seems to be "Two by two" - two subcompacts, two compacts, two full size cars - Camaro and Chevelle also are nearly identical in being zeta based coupes. Worst idea is a $38,000 'Alpha' rwd. That screams market failure at the top of its lungs. Impala - despite terribly out-of-proportion wheels looks best to me - and yet it starts at $30G - same as you pay for the Charger R/T Overall: WAY too many cars (10? 10 Chevy passenger cars?) way too much overlap, and not enough value - even your Caprice starts at $30G. Who's going to pay that for a Chevy? I thought the buick and Pontiac lines displayed some discipline, but that's been thrown out the window. There should be 10 distinct cars in the entire GM lineup, not just Chevy. |

OMG !!! I love all the designs. Your visions for the future are top drawer! You should give yourselves a huge high-five and GM's product planning dept. should hire all of you.
My favs are the Cobalt and the Chevelle. GM needs to build that Cobalt NOW. The Chevelle's front end/grillework looks like it could have been chisled out of a single block of aluminum. Really cool. It could/should be poised as a RWD replacement to the Monte Carlo. |

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
One way to get around CAFE for the Impala would be a diesel engine. I know Caddy and Saturn are supposed to get diesels in America, so why not Impala. A diesel that is 45 state legal would be grear, or even better, one that can even meet the emissions of those "progressives" in Cali and their followers. The Corvette would be good to stick where is it, and evolve the design and engines, like Porshce does with the 911. A Long wheel base Malibu could make a good Caprice.

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
I love several of your designs. However, the Cobalt, Chevelle and Nomad are long in the tooth IMO. The Cobalt rear end is horrible, imagine trying to fix the car after somebody rear-ended you. The Chevelle's interior is also horrible, with it's busy center dash Camaro steering wheel. Finally, the Nomad looks okay, but you already have two kappa cars. Why need another?

Re: GMI's Revitalization in Action | The Dream Chevrolet Lineup
Chevelle: An amazing car that should defintely bring back. This is 100 times better than the Monte Carlo
Beat/Aveo: Is there a need to have 2 small car segments in this country? I don't really think so. Plus the names are horrible. How about Nova? Who cares if it means "No Go" in spanish. Cobalt/Volt: Its a nice design, but does everything have to look like the Volt? If so then make the Cobalt look like this design with all the Volt's features and not have a Volt as a separate car. BelAir/Nomad: These look very similar to the Nomad concept a few years ago. It wasn't a good style then and its not that pleasing to the eye now. This car should be based alongside the Solstice/Sky and be at a pricepoint close to the Solstice. Chevy is not GM's premium brand. Malibu: This design is awesome! Caprice: I like the idea of using the old name plate again, but I don't think Chevy needs a larger car then the Impala. Thats why GM has Pontiac and Buick. Impala: This design is horrible! It looks like a Dodge Magnum and a Chrysler 300 mated and then put a Chevy badge on it. The Impala in an old Motor Trend was hot, this is not! Corvette: The front is really bad. The car looks like a bug smiling. Camaro: Looks awesome can't wait fo the Firebird though!! You have to look at the lineup at a business perspective before you just think of cars you would like to see. Some of these are just not feasible on a cost standpoint. PS: Where's Pontiac's new RIA lineup???
