All mine are 91's as they were the most advanced powertrain wise but still I've had to learn all the odd idiosyncrasies these cars present. Analog gages and simple quality interior finishes on the new car please! The Reatta's again have major interior issues. On a car that cost more than a Corvette did in 91 they should have had a more integrated interior design and materials. The Reatta was a great concept but somewhat poorly executed in 88-91. American buyers demand better quality in materials and assembly today than they did in 91. Listen and learn from the past halo car!!
... and GM could also learn from what people like us (their fan's) are saying

Re: GMI Feature: Revitalization in Action; The Dream Buick Lineup

Bottem line is GM is to CHICK'N to ever do anything like this. There are no more real car guys in the company. Or if there are they are hog tied in some confrence room. Notice that these great looking cars would not even be available for sale for more 3 years. This is an example of lack of confidence. They will not produce these cars, untill it is to late or some other manufacture has come out with a similar design and succeded. Just look at the PT cruiser or mustang need I say more. Buick = Rental Car

Re: GMI Feature: Revitalization in Action; The Dream Buick Lineup

I think you have done a very good job, inspiring and yes, exactly the type of shot in the arm Buick needs. I agree that marketing Buick the way it has been for the past several decades is not the direction for GM. Shadowing the Acura, Infiniti and Lexus lines are a smart move. Offer them at a "value" price and you'll attract those frugal Buick owners of past. They seem to be embracing the forward thinking designs and covet their lexus owning friends. What better way to show quiet dignity than to throw a car as nice or nicer than theirs in their face and have them know you spent thousands less. Now there's a Buick buyer. In marketing, you have to look at what is coming down the pike, and let's face it even the GenX are looking old these days. Buick should celebrate their passion for style, just do it in a tastefully executed manner. Let Caddilac be crisp and upcrust, let Buick be smooth and upscale. They both should have the best in power and technology, and that includes built in XM and sockets for our MP3 players (or better yet, Bluetooth). Hello! This is 2006. Each division is capable of holding its own with crossover offerings, they each have a distinct style; however, I think each should also have cars that are just their own.

BTW, I have always thought the best interpretation of the Velite styling would be to execute it on a sister model to the G6. With those lines and upscale amenities, Buick would have the perfect compliment to the Pontiac realist sport version, especially if we are going to continue to see Buick, Pontiac and GMC stable up together. The hard top convertible is there and waiting, with boat tail design already hinted on the G6 coupe. Add a sedan model to the package and it would put Buick right there in the entry level luxury market, with a smaller offering. I love the Wild Cat name, but Invicta would be a better attitude for the potentail market. Acura, Lexus, Invicta — hmmm, sounds powerful, nice and just think, it's not alphanumeric like their car names. I do long to see the Riviera name return and your upmarket Roadmaster Coupe cruiser is perfect for it. Just keep Lucerne on the sedan, for consistency sake. Lucerne and Riviera, great pair.

Great fun folks, thanks for the creativity and time it took to do this.

I realize the word beautiful is overused, but some of those cars are absolutely beautiful. Maybe that's what Buick's aim should be. That's a great segment that really doesn't exist. Cars as works of art. Those cars are masterpieces, the good news is the Enclave is one of them.

Re: GMI Feature: Revitalization in Action; The Dream Buick Lineup

If the Buick Division is truly to align itself with the likes of Lexus, Infinity and Acura, they are going to need a bigger halo car than a Velite-inspired vehicle on a Zeta or Y platform. They have to think in the realm of NSX and LF-A. This vintage concept car is the perfect answer, and the Wildcat moniker would be appropriate. Somewhat Viperish, not nearly as boring as GT.

Really like the Wildcat. Rear window reminds me of the 60's Stingrays. Is this definitely going into production or is it a just concept? The best I have seen since early views of the Pontiac Soltice. Go for it!!
