Prime reasons that Buick needs to go bye bye. Thank God these are not real GM designs.
In my opinion, if Buicks looked like these, GM's only problem would be making enough of them.

God **************** you!!!! I thought all of this was a real preview of what Buick had coming, but now I realize it's all a sham. . . .

Great work though!!! Now if only GM would listen. . .

Re: GMI Feature: Revitalization in Action; The Dream Buick Lineup

It could be a real preview of what's coming at Buick..products in these segments are in development right now, so, if GM/Buick listens, these could be a very real look at what they'll be like.

you shouldn't say nothing unless you know what you are talking about.
at least try and act more on to it when you say stuff.
the Gran-sport is based on a 69-72 Buick Rivi boattail coupe(have a look at some sites) get your facts straight.
also you must have strange taste my friend, and saying Buick should go Bye Bye's is straight up stupid.

We might just do that. It could be part of the plan.

The issue here is that the entire lineup is way overpriced. You've got cars that severely encroach into Cadillac's territory. 425HP Northstar ( ) in a $60K car. The only car appropriately priced is Lacrosse... that is assuming you're moving it UP in rank.. to where Lucerne is now. Otherwise... it's $6,000 overpriced.

What you seem to be doing here is creating a sophisticated luxury car to compete with Lexus. Well, sorry, that REEKS of GM "revitalizing" a brand because it's their brand. I'm of the mindset that Cadillac can run the entire gamut of luxury cars. Essentially, you can take a few of these cars and turn them into Cadillacs.

Target Chrysler. Cap the top end Buick at $45-50,000. And you have a decent lineup. No need for 2 coupes.
Lineup should be:
-- LaCrosse -- $25-33,000
-- Lucerne (Wildcat) -- $32-40K
-- Riviera (Coupe) -- $35-45K
-- Roadmaster -- $40-50K
-- Enclave -- $28-40K

No more. No less.
Buick should also consider entering the Livery business with said Roadmaster or Lucerne. This would challenge Chrysler's foray into this market. It would also allow Cadillac to do other things with their lineup.

Exactly what I was thinking.

the first Wildcat concept shown is very very nice. Build it tomorrow and eat the 300C's lunch. Can't day I dig the rest of these, but kudos for doing them.

Just because Cadillac has similar models does not mean people willstop buying Caddies and go buick it is very possible that they will stop buying Acuras, Infinitis, and Lexus. Your are thinking just like the GM brass and in case you haven't notices they are not exactly the best at what they do. In fact they suck. It is far to say that they are some of the most incompitent people in the business. I love GM and hope they doo alot better and send that foreign crap back over both ponds. But that will never happen with your kind of thinking. GM has to be aggressive and the brass is being a real disappointment. Granted the Camaro and others are hot fresh models but they are not going to retake the market. GM used to own the place and now they are struggling to survive and I can't stand it. They need some new ideas and fresher thinking. Too many old farts incapable of change I think. Come on GM start trying again and reclaim your turf.
jcurry,

No you probably would not want me in charge because one of the things I would do is cut down on the overlap of product in GM and provide more focus to each brand. Buick and Pontiac would only sell 3-4 models of cars, especially since they are being pushed into a B-P-G channel which will give them a full product line. Iluvcamaros pretty much hit on the mark of what I was saying with my post. But, let me clarify my position a little more clearly since you seemed to miss my point.

Like many here, GM offers up many products that uses yesteryears technology (see my remarks concerning the 4 speed automatics and use of the 3.8 V6 in the Lucerne that is suppose to be going up against the Avalon and ES) that does not cut it today, especially since perception plays a big part in automotive sales. Packaging and the options offered has also been a issue with many GM products when compared directly at the competition. I don't think that is a position that has not already been made by many and I would think you would agree.

I think what rubbed you the wrong way was that I did not think this was a design direction that Buick should pursue and that I would caution that building coupes could end up being a loser because the demographics have shifted away from buying coupes. Like the big SUVs, there is a market, but it is not going to grow. That has been the case since the 80s with coupes. Design wise, these are daring and bold Buicks. Cadillac has already gone this way with their designs. The CTS was either a love or hate it design, which is fine. GM does not need Buick going down this path and at the prices that are being offered up here, the results will be that Buick and Cadillac will cannabalize each others sells (more likely to the detriment of Buick). Having a brand of cars that have elegant designs does not meant that they are boring. Think of some of the Jaguars or Aston Martins that have appeared over the years.

As far as coupes, the Camaro/ Firebird disappeared because the sales were not there( somewhat due to to GM allowing them to become stale, I will grant you that). They both, however, offered a good deal of performance. I might add that handling wise, the 02 Camaro with the SS package is better at it's limits than the 05 Mustang GTs, although it is not as refined as daily driver. There are only so many sells out there for coupes. And I might add that the coupe sales will not be coming that often from the Japanese brands since they seem to be backing away from this market. Consider that Toyota no longer sells the Celica and it appears they will not be offering the Solara in the not to distant future. Acura is discontinuing the RSX. So I believe what I am is more a realist.

They all look nice . The big Sedan on top is sweet I would buy one. I dont care for the cross over thing on the bottom I am tired of looking at those things . If I wanted a truck I would buy one but all the rest are really nice. GM give these guys a job . They are much better at doing what needs to be done there than who you have doing it now.
