GMI Covers: 2008 British Motor Show

GMI Covers: 2008 British Motor Show
The highlight of the show.....Insignia!
July 19, 2008

Generally the London Motor Show is not an auto show that is extensively covered; mainly because it is not tradionally a show that has big-ticket reveals. However this year GM is using the show to dazzle us all with the new upcoming Opel/Vauxhall Insignia and Insignia Hatch. GM will be hosting a live press conference for the Insignia Monday, July 21st. Below is a link to watch that reveal online. In the meantime, check out the massive array of photographs of the Insignia we have here at GMI. So stick with us Monday-Tuesday of this week, because anything coming out of London will make it's way to GMI.

I can't watch! That Insignia just makes the Aura look sooo bad!! I know the Aura is a good car, but the Insignia is a beautiful design inside and out. Why is it the General always gives the Europeans the good stuff ? Have you seen their roads?

The mini site for it is sweet. Lots of interactive. Many of the colors you can choose are used on the Aura/Malibu. The interior is piano black in amazing. Too bad we have to wait.

Re: GMI Covers: 2008 British Motor Show

Sorry. It looks like an evolution of the current Aura to me. Dash (instrument area) looks the same as Aura/Malibu/Cruze. Rest of the interior is very good and a step up.
Its nice, but its not earthshatteringly so.

Re: GMI Covers: 2008 British Motor Show

Now everybody wants this car so much. And when it is available in US nobody buys it. This has been with everything from GM and Ford coming from europe to US. Look at the Astra or catera. In case of catera I remember how much car magazines praised it before it was available and you all know what happened then. Same with the Astra. Otherwise the Insigna has to be built in US, an export from europe would be far too expensive with current dollar rate.
