GM Releases GMT-900 Two-Mode Hybrid Photos

Today GM released some decent photos of the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrids. Both utes use the new Two-Mode hybrid system that was co-developed with BMW, Chrysler, and Mercedes. They should be arriving to dealerships within the next month.

Someone at work has a Fast Feedback car, no M Plate. It is a grey Tahoe.

Sweet! Nice pics! I like the lower air dam area. Can't wait to see what the final stats are.

Since the A/C is electric, can you use it without the engine running?

I like how they differentiated them from the non-hybrid models - the perfect minor touches.

The Yukon, strangely looks better than the Tahoe in this application. I am more interested in the real world stats though.

Re: GM Releases GMT-900 Two-Mode Hybrid Photos

I've seen two truck loads of pilot CTF's (or as Duspinst calls them fast feedback vehicles) roll into the tech center in the last two days with window stickers in them. Still unpopulated with data though.

Re: GM Releases GMT-900 Two-Mode Hybrid Photos

I hope GM can make a dent in the hybrid market because as the data from R.L. Polk shows today, Toyota has serious ownage of that market at this point - read HERE.

It is a little concerning, though, to see the Toyota SUV hybrids go down in sales as the hybrid cars are putting up big increases, since GM has their hybrids in the trucks. Hopefully the GM SUV hybrids will perform better in the market.

Bring on the 2-mode Silverado! It would probably sell better than the Tahoe!

I'd rather have a 2-mode car of some sort. Like an Impy or sexy hatch.

I would bet on that. With the right marketing and every year or making the truck more Hybrid but at the same time keeping the truck's capabilities some what respectable, I really believe this truck will do very well.
