Speaking of which - just look at all the Toyota and Ford 'talking' points that have just been or at least have a solid start on being dispelled AKA 'shown to be BS' - concerning GM.

It's fascinating to see so much emotion stirred by such a normal question of "Where are the GM hybrid numbers?". The monthly sales thread is where they have been found in the past.

Interesting...We nearly bought the previous SRX on two occasions. The first time (early 2005), my wife hated the interior but loved the rest of the car. The second time (early this year) we couldn't find a low-mileage pre-owned with AWD. Anyway, we saw a 2010 SRX while in Vegas a few weeks ago, and my wife hated it!

Somehow, I think more of the buying public will agree with YOUR wife!

If you knew his posts like we know his posts....yes, a lot of emotion. It gets to be too much to take having to see every positive GM thread turn into a thread touting the "greatness" of Toyota and the Prius. So yeah, we're gonna snap a little. You can only poke the dog so much before it turns and bites ya.

And this has let the product sell itself on merit....

It would be interesting if they collected monthly figures on showroom visits.

Interesting, but frankly I feel it really is the product. The product is the best it's been in anyone's memory. And more importantly, there's alot of it. By that I mean, not just one or two good vehicles per brand, but the majority of GM and Ford product is fairly new and well regarded.

As us Boomers age I'd like to think that a goodly number are now starting to think "smaller" but still within the same class of vehicle. Thus, go from a 7-seat crossover to a 5-seat would be what most will want to do. You get used to the functionality of a crossover. I have to admit, the Enclave has seriously spoiled us.

I'm just happy that the SRX is doing so well. There are a lot of bright points on the GM numbers as there is with the Ford numbers. I'm not so hopeful for Chrysler, unfortunately.
I agree with you both. I was in my Enclave today when a SRX passed me. The first one I have seen up close on the road which to me is when you really see the true vehicle. If I did not need the extra space I would definitely consider the SRX. You are right though the Enclave has spoiled me too.

Yeah, the Camaro is the new kid on the block, but I can't believe Ford wouldn't think they'd sell more Mustangs with it being a new model.

And if Camaro really is taking away Mustang sales and their combined sales represent the whole of the pony car market, that really doesn't bode well for the future of the segment. Those numbers would indicate that the market may not be big enough to support both cars for long.
Based on Chrysler's pathetic performance, I think the car that is going to take it in the shorts is the Challenger - and yet it's the only 'gotta have' Chrysler has.

I think Camaro is making a lot of hay with that 300hp standard six. It's a genuinely great value in base form - and then they pile on some RS trim and so forth and it sells for $30K - that's getting into entry luxury territory - so the margins are good and the units are good.

That's a hit my friend. Best thing to happen to GM since the Tahoe.

Sounds like no one is suppose to discuss hybrids anymore. It has become a taboo topic.
