Heck yeah, I hope they continue to duke it out so we get better looking and better performing vehicles at every launch.

In all cases, retail sales were up, fleet sales were way down.

[quote=Perian;1887481]ONLY 5,000 COBALTS WERE SOLD?

GM had better un-delay the Cruze.

Most Dealers didn't have any to sell. We just got our first 2010's in last week.

Malibu (with no fancy hybrid) - 12,086
New Fusion - 13,445

Camaro - 8,082
Mustang - 4,789

Tahoe - 7,738
Expedition - 2,878

Flex & Edge = 10,367
Traverse = 9,459

Cadillac is nearly matching Lincoln and Mercury sales combined!

Re: GM Oct. Sales up 4%, Gains Market Share

Buick cars sales (new LaCrosse) increase is really impressive. It is incredible what a difference a new, high quality product will do in terms of increasing sales. Now if only Buick could get a new Regal and possibly a new Astra to sell it might really blossom. I think this shows excellent potential for the growth of the Buick brand in NA.

I do wonder if CTS sales are being pulled towards the new Buick LaCrosse? CTS sales have really been slumping.

I assumed that CTS sales are slumping because of the leasing situation, not because of the car itself.

I couldn't agree more. To see toyota go down and GM / Ford go up is exactly what we want and need to see.

Re: GM Oct. Sales up 4%, Gains Market Share

Best month for LaCrosse and SRX this year. Worst month for Cobalt this year. Traverse second best month of the year. Lambda overall did very well. Old Epsilons are hanging in there. G6 mostly rentals I presume. I wonder if Saturn will end up all-rental at some point.

Big cars are "in" again, tiny cars are "out". So the Cruze won't save GM / be a game changer, etc. If only GM had a good large size sedan. SRX marketing seems to be working. Oil speculators, oil companies, and the White House must be looking at this and getting ready to increase gas prices...

Wow..Camaro by almost a 2:1 margin. But it makes sense. It's a superior vehicle with a better platform, more standard power, along with better MPG. It's also truly fresh while the "new for 2010" Mustang looks so much like the 2005-2009 models, many folks can't tell the difference.

Tahoe over Expy is no shock. The Expedition has been an also-ran in this segment for a while.

The Fusion has to be pleasant surprise for Ford. It's been getting great reviews AND is a sales hit. The last one was about lackluster as the previous Malibu. Nice to see both cars having success.

They stopped building Auras months ago - June, IIRC. And G6s are ALL fleet, again, IIRC.

All good news. Retail sales are up and production is down. I just wish that GMC didn't have to rely on Truck Month style promotions.

Re: GM Oct. Sales up 4%, Gains Market Share

I just want all the SRX bashers to note that the new model in its 3rd month has already posted the 2nd best ALL TIME month for the model. This is in a market that is down like 30% from 2008 and 2008 was a bad year. We have seen dozens of posts criiticizing Cadillac for moving the vehicle off Sigma and lowering the price but the numbers speak for themselves. This is in 3 months with limited supply and no turbo model.

Equinox has a long way to go to catch Escape and RAV4 in sales- GM has to keep up the ads and production. escape sold over 13k units as did RAV4. CTS sales need a boost as well.
