Re: GM: 2006 Review, 2007 Preview
Thanks nasp and ChevroletRevived Those were good reads for me and on a more pleasant side too which is something I hope happens here more. The way for this to happen will be for GM to deliver on the goods in the near future. Was GM using Saturn as a "guineau pig" to test the waters for the chevy/gmc/buick launches? I hope if they were that they left a little room in between launches to fix minor issues on the name brands.
I keep hearing how we'll get pounded with rising gas prices and what worries me about GM's new product lineup . GM needs to address this in a hurry . I for one do not care about 0 to 60 in an economy car I want fuel savings and I'm sure many think like that |

Excellent commentary, 2007 will truly be the year of the car for GM.

Re: GM: 2006 Review, 2007 Preview
Here are some FACTS from over the last few years:
- Lutz was quoted as saying that the Camaro would be priced in the range of the Mustang, if not a tad cheaper. - Lutz said that the Solstice was a great value because it was a roadster at UNDER $20000. the base price is now $22115. THAT is a crock o *****. - Saturn gets WAY TOO MUCH praise. GM just takes Opels that have a wonderful style, pry the Opel logo off of the grille and super glues a Saturn logo on in place. Saturn does NOT have anything original. It's beginning to really bother me that the Aura gets so much buzz. All that is, is just a G6 with a new front and read end.

-Good thing most of the general public has no idea what an opel is huh? Currently all of saturn's vehicles are built in North America. The first to actually come from europe will be the astra and I expect that to be temporary. |

Re: GM: 2006 Review, 2007 Preview
2007 should be the year that GM transforms itself from a SUV-Truck company to an all around automaker.
GM has to push its cars and hybrids to get people to understand that GM does offer more than Silverados and Tahoes. With the new Saturn Aura having a 94 day supply, it just proves that GM has to step up its marketing and advertising to push the EP1 big 3, G6, Aura and new Malibu.

My guess after that, would be both brands, recieving new products back and forth. Around 2008 - 2010 will bring the new GTO and the RWD Lucerne for Buick. Then as the LaCrosse moves to Epsilon II, hopefully those RWD only rumours for Pontiac will give them a new G6 and G4... That's what I believe will be instore for those brands over the next 2 or 3 years...
