Why? They are all under the GM flag and are supposed to stay uniform with Opel. Would you rather GM rebadge a Cobalt as they did with the G5 and call it a Saturn?

As long as it's built by GM that's the important thing.

Re: Confirmed: Astra to replace ION in late '07

I like the Astra as a car, but I still am having reservations about it as a Saturn. I suppose it works, but put side by side with the other models in Saturn's new line-up, I feel like it's awkwardly out of place. I can't quite place my reasons for feeling this way, but something just stands out as out of place to me with it.

I think the biggest mistake GM made with the Astra was offering only a 4-speed automatic. I know I'm going to get people who say it doesn't matter, but when other compacts are offering 5 speed automatics, GM should know to strive to at least match that, rather than settling for something that will probably be weeded out of the compact market completely in a few years (the 4AT)

I could be slightly biased, but I have to say that, while I prefer it over the G5, I still like the Cobalt a little bit more, and I feel it still doesn't touch the Civic in terms of...just about anything. But it will do very well for Saturn, I think.
