Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
Here's hoping for innovative (read European) engines with high MPG on the Astra and the DI 3.6L on the Vue!

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
I'll be honest, I'm really looking forward to the Astra. Two years ago, I wouldn't have given a Saturn a second glance. But I've always liked Opel, and I'm glad we are finally getting their influence here. Just put a good engine in with decent mileage please. Let's not screw up a good thing

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
I Read both articles.
Looks like a no on both counts. The VUE is getting the current 3.6 downrated to 250HP even. The Astra's estimated EPA highway rating is 34 MPG--with an even SMALLER engine than the Cobalt. |

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
But the Astra has a 1.9 turbo diesel with 320Nm of torque or something. That's not far off the 3.6 V6. Or have they screwed up and not brought that engine to the US?

It's probably not likely, but I really hope they give us the Panoramic Windshield as an option. Does anyone know when the new Vibe is scheduled to be unveiled?

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
All what's left is for them to bring the Corsa, Zafira and Meriva as Saturn!

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
I like the Astra a lot, hope GM will have the Astra RedLine soon, does anyone know what will the RedLine engine and options list be? Now I have 3 choices to choose from, the Astra RedLine, the Vue or the Vue RedLine and the next gen Vibe. Can't wait to test drive them all.

Re: Chicago: Astra, Vue RL Debut!
When it comes to the fuel economy part, doesn't the UK rating differ from the US in that the UK rating is a higher number even with the same engine?
Yes a 40mpg car would be great for Saturn and GM as a whole, but in saying that, i think you will find that at 34mpg WITH STYLE, it will do well competing against the Corollas etc of the world.
