Re: Chevy Camaro Convertible Concept Rolls Into Detroit Early

Saw it yesterday and it was one of my favorite cars at the show. Several people were asking when it would be available. The color looked sharp in person as well as the wheels.

Re: Chevy Camaro Convertible Concept Rolls Into Detroit Early

Looks great.

The only thing I have to wonder about is this long delay. First -- Is it usual to have a such a large gap between when a new car is announced and when it actually arrives?

And, second -- will the wait build-up anticipation and create a craze? - or will it cause it to miss the boat? Seriously...this design might be old and passe by the time this thing arrives in showrooms. Or, at the very least, it could become "not-so-new" looking, as everybody else has long ago incorporated it's "design cues."

I mean we're talkin' 2 to 3 years from now....

Is there any talk of the specifics of the powertrain, suspension, or steering. Independent suspension perhaps?

It is definitely getting independent rear suspension.

those concept car door handles and side mirriors are so ridiculously fake looking, GM could atleast make those look a little bit more production like.

Re: Chevy Camaro Convertible Concept Rolls Into Detroit Early

Well, my take on all of this is that the Concept Camaro is just that, "A Concept."

Many of the details regarding Mirrors, Door Handles, Dash Layout, etc. will be worked out very well by the time this car hits production.

I, for one, love the design. It is a very nice mix of old and new. What really has me excited is he fact that this car will be far and away much safer, fuel efficient, cleaner, better handling, and quicker than the old cars that stick in peoples' heads.

GM, based on what I saw in Detroit and Chicago, you are definitely on the right Track. The CTS is a quantum leap forward.

The Malibu is a real fine portrait of your efforts to improve your vehicles.

I only wish the Camaro was available sooner. But, given the fact that the Oshawa Plant builds many of your most popular vehicles and the change over will take a huge amount of time and dollars to facilitate, it is very understandable.

Can't wait for this Rice Eating - Horse Chewing Machine to hit the streets!
