Some day GM will try...
I'm not sure what the point of the article is. Both brands sell in very small numbers in Europe.
Scandinavian countries still love the big boats especially the classics, I wonder if the incentives are the same across the pond as they are here ? The Lambo models cost anywhere from 240k tp 450k, a tad more than a Caddy.
The other LOL is Lambo sells more caahs in the USofA than Caddy sells in Paradise. I mean Europe. Almost twice as many. Beating sales of 761 isn't exactly The Highest Mountain though.
Probably more Rhodes Cars sold in Europe than Caddy.
This is a tad bit sad
Cadillac doesn't build tractors.
European 2016 Cadillac v Lamborghini sales battle
2016 Cadillac LHD 761 sales v Lamborghini sales 596 LHD + 345 RHD UK sales = 941 Lamborghini European sales
(If only Cadillac had done just one RHD car in 2016 in Europe, Cadillac beat outsold Lamborghini on LHD mainland Europe)
Cadillac are just as good as any of the European car makers match them are the closest ever in quality they have ever been, l think the lack of success in Europe is purely down to not having a fuel efficient diesel options in recent times the lions share of BMW 3 Series sales are diesel, a staggering 98% of 5 Series sales are diesel in the EU, the BMW 3/5 Series are the two most profitable "cars" in the world, and the EU is where they make the big money with growing sales is being made on them.
But within the next several years most of the diesels will be gone in Europe, as the EU has turned its guns on the diesel engine powered car thanks to the VW cheat device found in the US that cheat tests & EU lab tests on diesels are not as accurate as real world road tests on N0x emissions, EU will legislate ban it off the diesel car of its roads, which will hurt the German luxury car makers probably Audi the most as their gasoline engines have a very poor reputation, it would create a very level playing gasoline only field ideal for golden opportunity for Cadillac to enter maybe be with some more fuel efficient engines maybe cheap LPG options that better suit $9 gas EU gas prices.
Honda, Nissan & Toyota that make excellent gasoline cars will see a change of fortune, they have always struggled against the bomb proof French/German diesel cars never made much of an impact against the more fuel efficient diesels in general, but without the diesels they only have the very German/French nationalistic buyers to overcome.
Europe is rather odd market Germany (Very nationalistic buy German), UK RHD only (Cosmopolinton buyers prefer German made cars the most open to buying Cadillac but only LHD is on offer on the menu so 0 sales are a cast iron guarantee) and France (Very nationalistic by French) all these three are massive markets sales wise, then sales it drop quite a bit to 4th Italy (Top 5 cars are Italian but they are more open than France/Germany), then the rest of European countries are are all relatively very small markets sales wise.
Lincoln have a massive network of Ford dealerships they could use as a stepping stone into Europe.

Cadillac sure need to go down Le Mans Ford GT route, and do German DTM to raise the brands profile then advertise the hell out of it when they win.
