2010 LaCrosse Coming To LAIAS; LaCrosse Name Official

2010 LaCrosse Coming To LAIAS; LaCrosse Name Official

General Motors provides a glimpse of Buick's upcoming 2010 LaCrosse, which reveals an exterior design strongly influenced by the Buick Invicta that debuted in conjunction with this year's Beijing Auto Show. Buick officials announced today that the all-new LaCrosse will make its world debut in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

This also confirms that GM's marketing folks have picked the "LaCrosse" name for Buick's Epsilon II car. It has been in limbo for sometime now as to what name the car would wear, but the final call came by marketing just recently.

Yay for the car, but I wanted to see Invicta make a return. I hope this is a hit for GM.

For sure, this will be worth a look. I'm glad they are keeping the LaCrosse name.

blah... this car will have few if any elements from the Enclave or the Velite.. this is Chinese design plain and simple. Harley Earl would be turning in his grave right now.

This car will be indistingishable from every other asian car from the rear and the only defining element will be the grille and the side "swoosh".

I agree with that - I think the Invicta or some other name would have been appropriate. Considering that "LaCrosse" means something not too flattering in colloquial French, I would have thought something else may have been called for. This is especially true since in Canada the name will probably continue to be "Allure" -- never liked the idea of a product having two different names in different markets.

But that's just me.

As much as I really don't like the name LaCrosse, at least they aren't throwing out another name just because of a redesign. I still think they should have kept Century or Regal.

I was going to say the same thing. They are at least sticking with one name, but I think it should have been the Regal or Invicta from the start.

Totally agree on the Invicta name. For one, it sounds better, which in itself means it should have won out. Yet in addition to that, the Lacrosse never got much attention, or many fans. So if someone was hellbent on the car not being called Invicta... couldn't they have brought the Regal back?

Awful name, for once I wish GM would of been itself and given us the Invictia. O well.

It does look like a reasonably decent looking car. What are the engines? Do we know that yet?
