I go by Dodge's own stats at their website. The 3.5L weighs in a 3,800lb. And, again, it's a 4-door.

Further, the larger wheels on the G8 than the base Charger is meaningless. The base Charger has 17" steel wheels. The G8's wheels are of a lighter construction. So that's a bad spec to point to to prove your case.

Oh, and the Charger is over 200 inches long.

If they really have AFM with a manual trans this will be a first for GM. Wouldn't be surprised to hear this combo is not compatible on Monday.

No more Z28 name eh? That's a bummer. Now LS, LT and SS..... typical boring Chevy type designations.

The RS... I mean LS, looks kinda boring without the air slot and raised hood. That thing also needs a little bit more of a bump in the back in the spoiler department.

The SS I guess is going to be the flagship anyways, in looks and performance.

But I gotta say, HOLY CRAP when it comes to the V6 horsepower! Poppa likes! Beats the hell out of the 200HP V6 that the Firebird/Camaros had in 2002 MY.

3,747 for the V8 so I'll guess the V6 is going to be around 3,600?

Absolutely - looks like people will actually be able to have fun while saving money and gas!

As far as the looks go - glad to see the headlights stayed (!), but otherwise I guess I've just seen it so much over these past years that I'm no longer blown away. The interior design looks good, shape-wise, but is a bit Pontiac G6 monochrome.

3,747 for the V8
Where did you see that? Could you share please. The weight mentioned in the article does not state which version. Pics are of the V6 version so I would guess the V6 version weighs 3747. Please confirm.

297hp for the V6?? Sounds nifty.....im assuming they're using the same DI 3.6 as in the CTS/STS then??

I can't say I am sold on the center stack, but in saying that, I will say I like the fact that it isnt just the same boring setup that we see in pretty much every other car.

Cool Re: Jalopnik lets the cat out of the bag reveals 2010 camaro info before monday revea

I'd like to point out it was CarTribe that broke it first. Jalopnik just followed suit. We didn't have any embargoed information -- so we had no way of revealing anything with out it being revealed to us first.

When the 3800 Series II Debuted in the F-bodies in 1996 it was just 15hp shy of the 4.6L SOHC mustang motor. A 3800 RS package equipped camaro with the 5- speed manual is surprisingly quick and economical, remember this was the engine that gets 30mpg in LeSabres.

It is very impressive that the DI is the base engine i would have expected the port injected LY7 to be on the base cars and the LLT on a midlevel model. I'm happy that they went with the 3.6 rather than the 3900, even though they could rig the 3900 up with AFM it never had competitive power or economy against the competitors

That's hot.

Sure, it's about 400 lbs heavier than I'd like it to be...but I still want one.
