Talking Re: 2010 Camaro Shown Early: Specs and Pics Inside!

I think a pool should be started, how long til the 2010 Camaro is on cinder blocks behind someone's trailer just like the old Camaros?

I'm going with 2017.
Any takers?

A few end up there since they don't all go to the junkyard like imports. That's no insult to imports, just people don't "restore" Camry's and Civics. Whereas someone will almost always care about a Camaro, no matter how bad it is. Think of the last junker Camaro you saw parked in a driveway and felt kind of sorry for and then think of the last import of comparable age you saw in the same state...

Re: 2010 Camaro Shown Early: Specs and Pics Inside!

Just went to http://www.fueleconomy.gov and looked up the Accord 6 cyl coupe and the altima coupe plus the Tiburon, the fuel economy of the Camaro is either better or only a litle bit off. The mpg #s will help GM sell many v6 Camaros. I cant complain about the mpgs. Ill take a 23 mpg hwy Camaro with 400 Hp anyday hell I had a 05 GTO that got no way near that. Ill take mine Black SS with the white skunk Stripes please...........

Too bad GM contracted the tooling with Korea. A truly American Icon produced with Korean tooling. Wait until they try to produce parts with that junk! Maybe they can rename it the "KIMARO"!!! What a short-sighted shame!

That's why the majority of ship yards are in Korea. That's why the panel fit on Hyundai's and Kia's are tighter than Lexus - the dies are built in Korea. A 1.5mm panel fit is outstanding. Stow your anti-Korean prejudices and do a little research before you spout your hate, okay? The Koreans make some great tooling equipment.

"South Korea is leading several key industries in the world, particularly in the fields of science and technology. It has a very advanced and modern infrastructure and is a world leader in information technology such as electronics, semiconductors, LCD displays, computers and mobile phones, led by Samsung and LG. Home of the world's third largest steel producer, POSCO, it is the world's largest shipbuilder, the world's fourth largest oil refiner and one of the top five automobile producers in the world, headed by Hyundai and Kia. It is also a leading country in engineering, construction, machinery, textiles, petrochemicals, biotechnology and robotics."

But I guess that doesn't mean anything in your world, eh?

wut is strange is the fact the LT model with an auto weighs in more than an standard LS auto am i missing something here. The Lt model's on others usually have upperclass amendities so ???

What's your source on the new V6 in the '10 Mustang? I haven't read that anywhere, only that the 4.0L SOHC V6 stays without modification to keep costs down. IMHO, that plant should be revised to have 3-valve heads like the GT's 4.6L V8. That would likely bring the HP rating up to about 260 or so. This would be a great replacement for Ford's 4.2 L V6 (202 HP) and 2-valve 4.6L V8 (224-250HP) in its trucks and sedans.

Back to the Camaro: I'm thinking, apparently like others here, that if there is an RS Camaro, it will mimic the Mustang's Pony Package: sportier looks and better handling but no increase in HP.

Questions:

Is the blue LED lighting color changeable? I'm not a fan of the blue LED lighting.

How much less more the Camaro weight if it did not have 6 Air Bags?

Re: 2010 Camaro Shown Early: Specs and Pics Inside!

Where are the hide-away headlamps? I think the Camaro looks best....during the day anyway, w/the headlights hidden....just like on the '68!

I read that the Z28 model was axed last week on a couple auto news sites.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/14/a...ardly-knew-ye/

Unless this is a bunch of hogwash, the Z28 is dead...at least for now. :/

The LT with an auto weighs less than an LS with an auto. LS is 3769 and LT is 3750. The LT has more equipment, but the LS has steel wheels as standard - heavier than the LTs standard aluminum wheels.

That's already been announced. The RS package includes RS badging, HID "halo" headlamps, rear spoiler, 20 inch wheels, and unique taillamps on the LT V6. It just adds the headlamps on the SS and the SS badging is red on SS/RS cars. There's lots of information in the specifications and press release at chevrolet.com/camaro

Something that hasn't been announced can't really be "axed"

GMs comment on Z/28 was "we don't comment on future product plans." I'd expect an announcement later about that one. Maybe at NAIS in January. It's long been assumed that it would be late introduction...

No, it's been stated the lighting will be Ice Blue unless you opt for the Red/Orange combo. I love the Ice Blue myself.
