Well...I have seen 315's fit under every Fbody from my car to a 4thgen.
295's are good...but damn it I want steamrollers!!
Nothing looks killer then a set of 315's laying pavement. I was behind my friends Z06, and the 325's that thing has was a thing of art.

Big tires hanging out of the bottom of the car remind me of some nsfw female stuff.

I am seriously going to have to go into some serious debt...especially when the announce Z28 specs.

Re: 2010 Camaro Shown Early: Specs and Pics Inside!

The V6 RS seems like really smart move. Both the Mustang and Challenger position their V6s as cruisers; you've got to move up the the v8 if you want the performance goodies.

The RS gives the V6 buyer the "good stuff", plus a v6 with between nearly 50 and 90 extra horsepower, but with similar fuel economy.

I think you'll see a lot of V6s, and particularly RSs. If I didn't need the space (and was in the market for a sporty car), this would be on my short list.

I wish it was a bit lighter, but as long as it "drives light" I think they've got something here.

The RS is sweet. I bet it'll make an easy ~315hp with light modifications.

Toyota? The LS3 handles their stupid DOHC V8 which "just so happens" to have the same displacement as GM's olds small block and Dodge's current HEMI engine.
Now, I agree that the original post you were responding to was obnoxious and incorrect.

But the Toyota 5.7 liter V8 is a truck engine. If you want to compare it to a GM engine, you should be comparing it to the 6.0 liter Vortec Max (which it outdoes on power and low end torque) or the 6.2 liter engine in the Escalade and Sierra Denali (which has it beat on power, but not by a massive amount).

The engine's official displacement is 5663 ml, or 346 cubic inches with a 3.7 bore and 4.02 stroke. So it's not the exact same size as the Hemi or the old smallblock. Toyota undoubtedly targeted a size large enough to give them the fastest truck with the highest official horsepower rating in the half ton pickup class at launch - and they got it.

Mustang V6 Pony includes GT suspension and some dress-up goodies, and a manual coupe will hit 60 in the mid to low 6-second range all day long. That isn't exactly a cruiser in my book.

Z28's next year, and if the rumors are true...going to be one hell of a car.

Agreed ... and everytime I see one, I think ..."if I didn't need to carry two kids and all their stuff, I'd want me one of these!"

That said, the RS Camaro promises to be a whole 'nother level in terms of performance. Even with 500 extra pounds, it has a substantially better power to weight ratio than the V6 Mustang, offers a more sophisticated suspension and appears to have a very serious tire/wheel package. It will probably be more expensive than a V6 Pony Mustang, but it will be very interesting if the RS undercuts the Mustang GT in price and comes close to it in performance.

Great time to be a car enthusiast!

Except for MY2010, Mustang will be packing 260-270hp in its V6, while maintaining its weight advantage (3.7 is aluminum, 4.0 is iron).

Other problem is that the RS is heavier than the Mustang GT by at least 300 lbs, yet doesn't pack any more power.

Actually, it hasn't. It was late introduction for the 1st Gen. just like it's going to be for the 5th Gen. Admittedly, it will be a bit longer between launch and the Z28 introduction this time around, but everything I've heard certainly says it will be worth the wait...

Somehow I don't see that radio HVAC unit being around longer than 1-2 years.

Its an intergrated unit that was built just for Camaro, not a parts bin unit.
Its gunna be around for as long as the car is.

If you had to guess how much do you think a fully loaded Z/28 would run for?
