I can't say how important it is for GM and SAAB to allow SAAB to get closer to it's Swedish roots. I think it is a mistake to continue to offer the GM based SUV under the Saab name, although it is a fine product. And as really neat as that little SAABaru, hot rod was, it was a major marketing mistake on GM's part that damaged Saab's image. I am not suggesting that Saab can't benefit from it's GM ownership, especially, OPEL. But it is important that who ever is making decisions about Saab's future, be fully versed in Saab's past and why people buy Saabs.
