Question about 5.3 liter LS4 V8

I test drove an Impala SS and Pontiac GXP and was very impressed with their performance, but not their seating comfort. I then tested a Buick LaCrosse CXS and liked its seating comfort, but not its performance (240 hp isn't enough for me). I read Buick is coming out with the new LaCrosse Super sometime this summer, and it will have the same seats as the CXS but with a significant increase in power. My question is, has anyone heard of any problems with the 5.3 V8's Active Fuel Management (aka DOD) system? I posted the same question on Impala SS and Pontiac GXP boards but haven't had any replies yet. I'd appreciate a reply. Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about 5.3 liter LS4 V8

So far, I haven't read or heard of any problems with the AFM(dod) in the Tahoes. Surburbans, Impalas, GXPs.

I drove an 07 Yukon with the E85 capabl 5.3L with D0D, it was a capable motor, and watching the v4/v8 mode was addictive.

While we are on it:

How do you identify a pulled out LC9 Engine (the E85 capable All Aluminum 5.3L with D0D). Or the the Truck where it still sits in. I assume one letter is a "Z"? What about the rest?

As long as ya maintain oil change intervals, they've not been known to give any trouble.
