dynoed my get on saterday and im very happy with the numbers i got. it got 153hp and 151 torque the motor is stock on 93 for gas and its a 5 speed. now im going to be geting all the GMPP stuff the intake cat back and header and dyno it again. when the VVT kicked on in the higher rpms that car sounded so nice and the muffler sounded sweet to. im very happy with what this cars got stuck

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

Nice cars, though the headlights on the Cobalt look alot better than G5.

One of the dealers around here told me that the headlights were made of some special type of hard plastic, that they can be runned over without anything happening to them. Anyone care to confirm this?

Those aren't stock headlamps on the Cobalt.

I don't think I'd go as far as running over my headlamps to test their toughness.

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

What is the 2.4 rated at? 170 bhp?? If so, then once again you lost a small percentage to the wheels. GM underrating .

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

That's not bad. Here is Automobile's dyno of the Civic Si:
Comparing these dynos, the G5 made 27whp less, but it makes an additional 17lb-ft. The power is also made about 1800rpm sooner.

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

Civic Isnt that bad on power at all. Too bad you have to wait for VTEC to kick in to see something. I think Honda underrated the torque #'s.

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

Nice flat torque curve on that G5.

Now if only GM could get the weight where it should. Enough with these overweight cars.

PS:Guy posts a dyno sheet and all you guys can talk about is headlights...

Re: put the G5 on the dyno

for the 07s the 2.4 is 173hp and 163ft/tq at the crank. i would like to see how my G5 would take with the civic SI. a guy i work with just got one and he thinks hes the **************** and how its so fast. put i plain on geting a intake a cat back and header for it. just to give it alot more then thats about it.
