more H3 alpha horsepower ?

hi guys,

im thinking of buying a Hummer H3 alpha but first i want to know how can i increase the horsepower so it will be like the Tahoe which uses the same engine. I want the same horsepower. I know it has something to do with the hardware for emission restriction but i want to know what i can do about it.

thanks

Re: more H3 alpha horsepower ?

just put intake an exhaust on it, its not like there is much more HP in the tahoe vs the h3. you probably wont even be able to tell the difference

Re: more H3 alpha horsepower ?

the Alpha is 300 and the Tahoe is what 320, that would be easy with a quick flash of the PC, a K&N, and CAI, add a cat back, couple bolt ons, and you would be prolly 330-350 in no time.....

and actually the H3 should feel snappier anyhow it is quite a bit lighter the the Tahoe. does for me anyhow, the Alpha is a nice unit...thinking of making it my next off roader, almost had a new wrangler but then I heard of the HX so wiating on that maybe.

Re: more H3 alpha horsepower ?

The H3 Alpha weighs around 5000 pounds and I think it's stuck with a four speed automatic. Even 350 horsepower wouldn't move it that fast.

You might be able to get a Sierra Denali for about the same price. The H3 looks better and undoubtedly off-roads better (it has a much shorter wheelbase if nothing else), but the Sierra Denali is pretty luxurious and gets a much better engine and transmission and will run much faster and tow much more than the H3.

Re: more H3 alpha horsepower ?

the 3 we got hauls ass quite nicely.....compared to the tahoe, it is a snappier vehicle, drive one, its all in the gearing as well...and ya it is stuck with the 4 speed, but if your looking for room like the tahoe, the H3 is NOT it...

The Denali would give you the 6.2 anda 6 speed, and it definately hauls, I delvierd one last week to a good customer and we went to the 'dirty' bar for a beer, and for a drive, makes the hemi an embarrassment.

One issue would be that its not the same engine

The code is different, for example my Avalanche has an LMG (5.3L Iron Block, FlexFuel). However the most restrictive thing on the H3 is its exhaust. A good exhaust will restore the missing 15 ponies (the 4wd Tahoe is 315hp.)

HEMI swapped wranglers are a force to be reckoned with!
