LSJ Engine To Be discontinued?

Ive read some stuff on the internet that GM will be discontiuing the LSJ engine. This is the engine that is found in the Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged. The engine is a 2.0 liter supercharged fuel injected engine. If this is true then 2007 would be the last year for that engine and maby that car. So my Question is this, Has anyone read anything or heard anythuing about this?

It will be discontinued. There's strong evidence of a Turbo Cobalt SS for 2008.

Re: LSJ Engine To Be discontinued?

GM didn't want to invest into further development to make the LSJ pass 2008 emissions standards from what I had read.

Re: LSJ Engine To Be discontinued?

Someone on Cobaltss.net found a turbo (LNF) engine in their GM parts catalog under Cobalt for 2008. Maybe a parts guy on here could look into that?

So will you keep your SS/SC or trade up? I haven't decided yet seeing as how I've only had mine for a couple months.

Re: LSJ Engine To Be discontinued?

The LSJ was an outdated design.
