Cadillac 3.6L engine

Does anyone know how long a 3.6L engine will run without oil? Where can I find information in writting on this topic. Does GM have any articles on this topic?

technically mine does not run w/ oil, but something to emulate it. So.... so far 45k miles

All vehciles need oil to run, to lubricate the moving parts

Are you confusing running without water with oil. All moving parts need lubrication unless it will seize up. Some GM LS motors like the ones in some trucks and Northstars will run without water for a short period of time at reduced speed. Its been awile since I read this so I'm not 100%.
