3.6 V6 Modifictions?

Can you modify the 3.6 (Aura) to boost the HP at all? Customer bought one and wanted to squeeze a little more speed out of it.

outlook/acadia/enclave have the same engine with 275 horsepower but with dual exhaust.

There are after market chips for the 3.6L. I have zero knowledge if they work or screw up your engine. Ebay is loaded with people trying to sell them.

Re: 3.6 V6 Modifictions?

It's not likely that there are any aftermarket suppliers of air intakes or headers yet, but there's a good chance that there are drop-in filters that might up the airflow. Check K&N or AFE. K&N even has a search function to find the exact size you want Looks like you guys are going have to do it all the old fashioned way, like getting an exhaust shop to bend something up with a unversal high-flow muffler.

As does the Vue at 257 hp. The Outlook is actually tuned to 270 with XR Trim giving you dual exhaust and an extra 5 hp.

I figure having an exhaust put on should help it out a bit, but I think my customer is looking for more oomph!

The Acadia's 3.6 is able to breath more then the Aura's 3.6. It won't fit in the Aura's engine bay. Just in case you didn't know.

Re: 3.6 V6 Modifictions?

I would get the DI heads off a CTS and the ECU and let it run as a CTS engine Unless there is a packaging issue I don't know of.

Surely a chip or something would provide more for less cash though.

No such chip for new cars, the computer has to be "reflashed". If you buy a chip, you will be ripped off.

An exhaust system, cold air intake are about the only things that can be done. I dont know if anyone makes either for the Aura yet.

Re: 3.6 V6 Modifictions?

Just to clear some things up.

the 252 horse variant in the G6 and Aura etc is different than the Acadia etc.

THe Acadia has a slightly more agressive exhaust cam duration, revised heads. THe intake manifold had the runners lengthend to pull away from the already great flowing top end, and put it more down low (<-- thats why it wont fit in the aura), being that your using a heavy truck versus the aura/g6

I am going to be doing an Acadia Head swap for somone with a G6, at the same time I will be giving it a light port job.

ALL accessories including the intake mani should bolt up to the acadia head.

goto http://www.g6performance.com for some small aftermarket talk about the 3.6.

P.S. HorsePower Tuners has a unit that will tune your car. This would be useful to you.

Re: 3.6 V6 Modifictions?

Id like to see Magnaflow, Corsa, or someone make a nice stainless dual exhaust for Epsilon cars.
