Re: A present for mikmak
Ah, the XU-1 was an amazing little rocket for its heyday.
I first drove a 6 cylinder Torana quickly down through the road through the "Gardens" in Darwin. ![]() ![]() I made the comment to Mike Izod, the Dealer, that this car will attract a lot of people to Holden. It became a part of Holden Folklore Mike |

Re: A present for mikmak
I can't help thinking that the brakes were getting a little warm on the XU1. It does show how good a car the 37 year old is. Still form the days when what you raced Sunday could be bought on Monday and neither had roll cages.
One of the cars I learned to drive in was a LinaMint LC Toranra GTR that my brother owned. Nicest colour even when faded a little. Last edited by chinamonty : 10-07-2009 at 06:56 PM. |

Re: A present for mikmak
I actually "met" GMWAGN (The guy that made the station wagon 'tube, at another forum that I visit from time to time imaginatively titled stationwagonforums.com. He sent me a link to Streetwagons.com and I joined about 4 days ago.
GMWAGN just picked himself up a Calais V Sportwagon (Phantom Mica of course). Nice guy too. Thanks for posting. It's got my juices going for the ever delayed Ozmosis project. ![]() XU2 [was that a real thing?]sounded awesome!

Re: A present for mikmak
Still in love with the GTR-X. A great design for the time. Ever heard of anyone having built their own?

Re: A present for mikmak
With those skinny wheels it reminds me of the electric cars you see heading South from Darwin.
