Re: National Rugby League

Love it to be the Wallabies, though I'm kinda expecting the Wobblies to be on show again.
Bit of an issue over the field though, only one metre of the ingoal area is turf, the rest stitched squares of astro turf with no padding. Evidently the compromise agreement was for one piece sections of astroturf to fill the turfless gap, but they got 'carpet squares'. source smh.

Don't forget kids, the Kangaroos play their Four Nations final on sunday morning. Telecast starts at 5am for queensland. Check your local guides. I'll be awake, hang over and all.

Yes, thanks Mik.
6am Sydney time on Channel Nein I believe, but as always "check your local guide".

poms have picked a pack of bloody monsters, so it could well be a very good tussle.

Re: National Rugby League

Good game, Aus only got away in the last 15 minutes.
in the other game this weekend, the USA Tomahawks 37 defeated Jamaica 22 in the Atlantic Cup Test in Jacksonville Fl in front of 3500 people. Jamaica lead 12-10 at halftime.

That was a great game! Shame the Poms got flogged in the last 20. It's good to see the standard of rugby league around the globe is improving.

I'm looking forward to see how the new US NRL goes next year!

Re: National Rugby League

I did enjoy that game, but it was pretty clear what happened to Pomgolia. They just didn't have the fitness to finish the game. That's te problem when you load your team up with a massive forward pack. That 6'7" man mountain did very little and the super kid Burgess was knackered at the start of the 2nd half.

It will be interesting when Burgess and David Taylor both join Rabittohs next year. Bunnies are definitely going to be top 8.

Here's the AMNRL grand final highlights. I've never seen so many forwards creating linebreaks! They still have a long way to go but you can see some talent in there. Coaching is probably what they need most.

It's kind of cool to see a fledgling league starting up. Hope they have as exciting 100 years as NRL has.

Looks like the USNRL (pro comp) may be pushed back a year due to GFC, the AMNRL (amateur comp) will continue either way.

Pleasing to see these guys, the Jamaicans & the Euro & Pacific Cups all playing 'the greatest game of all'.

Seems like USA - Jamaica was a cracker of a game.
