    Holden Torana Custom

    Howdy folks,

I'm trying to remember the name of the guy that used to do Fibreglass kits for Toranas and the like, way back in the late 70s. He had a very distinctive style and I think he also did the Trans Am esque front clips for Kingswoods.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Close. It certainly looks very similar with the square pumped guards, but the one I have in my head looks a bit guadier.

All I have to say is that thank god I'm getting too old to remember much of the 70's and 80's.

I used to work in Northern road Heidelberg where Arcadipane had his shop. we Victorians must have been spared those TransAm fronts. I don't recall seeing one before.

If it weren't for pictures, no one would remember the 70s and 80s.

I remember seeing a few, and I think my uncle had it on his white Sandman. I DO remember it had a massive fibreglass scoop on the bonnet and blue and red flecked speed boat style paint. Did I mention red crushed velour interior? Oh yes. Classy.

Hah! Have you been talking to my wife? That was one of the first things she said to me the weekend after picking up the sportwagon on the thursday: "what can we buy for my car?"

My kids have also named it "Ruby". Pretty tough
