JD Camira - ugliest Holden ever. Dissing a made over UC Torana is a bit uncool too.

Re: Classic Holden TV Ad's

Hey I found what appears to be the debut version of that HZ RTS ad!
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au..._holden_38.htm

Lots of other classic Holden ads to choose from via the drop-down menu bar ...

FB (2) offers up a punchy sales jingle
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au..._holden_10.htm

HQ V8 is worth a gander. Even after 36 years this model still looks wonderful
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au..._holden_31.htm

Of interest to Holden nostalgics in the Video Vault section
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au..._the_vault.htm

Hell Drivers (1964) l/h/d EH Holdens
GTR-X Concept Coupe (1969)
Holden Precision Driving Team (1973) is this the world's only OE pink HQ GTS?
Sydney International Motor Show (1973) includes wild Monaro sedan concept and that memorable Super-chicken panelvan

Lots more to view - albeit in a small and austere format - and accessible via Media/Classic Car ads

Looks like a Gemini (RWD T car) to me, not a Torana. And I think the JE with the postbox slot grille was uglier!

Re: Classic Holden TV Ad's

My nan had one of those Barinas from brand new and just passed it on to her grandson last year. It's done over a dozen trips from Darwin to Vic, QLD and NSW and Nan would cruise at around 140kph!

Re: Classic Holden TV Ad's

Did anyone else have problems with some of the links e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeKIYfhdvDU the 2005 Chevrolet Lumina Ad one - a youtube error saying that they've "been removed due to terms of use violation". Anyone save them in some form they could mail me (i usually save them as .flv)?
I also loved the uniquecars site ones (probably the cause of the error) but how can I save them? I had especially always wanted to see the HQs arriving by helicopter one - it was that ad that turned me to being a "the son of a Holden owner" to being a fanatic, who especially love the Qs!
Cheers

Isuzu, with a short "i".

There's no long "i" in Japanese; something pronounced "eye-suzu" would be spelled Aisuzu, as in Daihatsu. Saying "eye-suzu" is like saying "eye-talian", or "eye-rack" (that American favorite).

I dated a Japanese girl ages ago; she taught me some basics on how to pronounce Japanese characters, and how to properly change western names into Japanese. Texas, for example, is "te-ka-sa-su" in Japanese, and my name, Gerald, is "Ji-ro-du". It's a fascinating language, and really easy to learn.

Just in case anybody wanted to know!
