Are there any non-Australian based GMI members who are watching today?

Re: All V8 Supercars Discussions Here

How good was the Bathurst 1000! Well done Mark Skaife, Todd Kelly & Holden Racing Team.

Holden wins, again! Ford has a bad day, again, Ambrose is a wanker, as usual! Nothing's ever his fault!

Ya do have to feel sorry for Lowndes though. He was having a great weekend, until a stray Holden wheel buggered that up for him.

The Bigpond round highlight are a must for anyone who's never seen the great race. This years race will go down as one of the greatest. Here's a link. Enjoy.

Re: All V8 Supercars Discussions Here

How close is the V8 Supercars championship this year!
Just a shame Ford takes up the first three places.

Here's how they stand:
1 Russell Ingall 122 1,610
2 Marcos Ambrose 58 1,544
3 Craig Lowndes 190 1,529
4 Mark Skaife 182 1,516
5 Todd Kelly 88 1,500

Skaife & Todd Kelly are still in the hunt, but it'll be a hard slog.

Of the three Ford drivers, I wouldn't mind seeing Lowndes win.
He may be a traitor, but I still like him better than the other two.

Also, Stone Brothers Racing announces their new driver to replace Ambrose for 2006 on Thursday.
Some big shoes to fill there.

EDIT: My Boo Boo. Never drink n type!

Not FPR - you mean Stone Brother's racing - SBR!!!!

Re: All V8 Supercars Discussions Here

I was wondering, if there was one place in the world you would like to see the V8 Supercars race,
be it at a raceway or a street race, where would it be and what sort of race meeting would it be?

For me, I would have to say a 24 hour street race around Sydney's Olympic Park.

Since I read a press report on the idea months back, I've been dying to see this happen.
I think a 24 hour V8 Supercars race would be great, especially around Olympic Park.
Make it a must see event, a festival, like the Gold Coast Indy 300 is. Start the race at 4pm Saturday.
Imagine the crowds coming in and out on a Saturday night and back again Sunday.
Sydney love's a big party, especial if they can just get the train there.
Sydney sporting events have been turning up some massive crowds since the 2000 games.

If this didn't happen, a race around Port Kembla Steelworks would be great!

Re: All V8 Supercars Discussions Here

So it looks like Holden is out of the race for the V8 Supercars championship.

You can't say they haven't tried, but Ford & SBR have just been so strong again this year.

If any Ford driver had to win the championship, I would like it to be Craig Lowndes.
