My choice relates only to those cars inclusive of this poll - which does not include Clubsport, XR6 Turbo, Renault R26 or (personal favourite at this price level) the Land Rover Defender 130 Crewcab.

I don't agree with your opinions about which is the 'better' car, or your pricing rationale, or anything else voiced in your post.

For the poll... the HSV always.

reality...
1) HSV Senator
2) HSV Grange

then I would probably jump over to the Holden Calais..

There won't be a Ford Falcon or FPV variant in my garage.

Re: Review: New FPV GT vs HSV GTS - The Big V8's At Play, Plus The New FPV F6 Turbo!

Hate the outside. Dislike the inside (and my favourite colour is blue). if the seating position is the same as BA/BF as it's supposed to be I'd hate it.

Plus I don't like forced induction on roadcars.

Plus I like V8s in pref to sixes and the Ford seems like a bit of a dunger.

So no FPV for me.

As for HSVs I'd take a Senator, but I'm more likely to go Calais.

I would be happy with either. It amazes me that when they bring out something conservative people complain when they stretch the designs people still complain. I absolutelty hate the front end treatment on the latest Rollers but it wouldnt stop me buying one as I want to sit in the drivers seat. Same argument with the FPV or for that matter the W427 which looks equally different/bad.

I know that this is just adding fuel to the fire but seriously look at these cars...

I think it's the silver one.

The GTS definitely looks nicer. Much more differentiation from the Commodore. And to me, the back of the GT looks a little to after-thought. Especially the V8 supercar spoiler on its back. It still has a whiff of the taxicab about it, even though it has a relatively nice front end. I like the new 6.2 GTS with the new 20-inch alloys, looks nice. The alloys change it quite dramatically.

The FPV seating position is crap. I don't fit and the wheel adjstment is crap. GTS by a long way. If it had to be a Ford I'd get the GT-E. I think I am starting to reach a power ceiling ! In reality, I don't need or want to get anymore grunt than the SS. In all truth I would draw the limit here:

Me too. One of the reasons I'd stick with a Calais over a Senator, I think. If I was buying today I might even go the six. The only extra content I'd be interested in with the Senator has can be optioned or added aftermarket and the looks of the HSV go against it for me. The only thing is the Senator comes manual and Calais don't.

And if I won tatts I'd rather have an Aston DB9 over a Vantage, because V8/manual with 380hp is more than enough, V12/semi-auto + 450hp is too stupid for road use. Unless I took to doing track days as a rich man.

In Vic you get pinged 135 smackers for 4km/h over the limit, automatic loss of licence/six months for 20km/h over. I find economy of my car recently improved mainly due to that - and fuel prices; everyone seems to be driving 10 kay under the speed limits!
