SS-V Ute in Poison Ivy for me. Except, the website says they will only be available in 3 colors. VooDoo it is. Don't be sad, you can get one. Getting to the US will be the challenge.

I like the Pontiac front end on the ute, but it doesn't look right on the wagon to me.

I know one person in the US wouldn't have cared how it looked. If he didn't like it, he knew how to fix it.

Meh... if I'd had one I most likely would've imported some HSV parts and turned it back into a Holden anyway.

As seen on this forum, I'm not one for the Caprice. The G8 was enough luxury for me & the rear seat room is better than some cars of equal size. But, I still have that chip on my shoulder about getting teased over the Ute coming to the US.

I love the Holden and think it's great. One thing kind of puzzles me though - everyone complains about not getting to buy a $35,000 Pontiac shipped literally from the other side of the globe - but the Cadillac CTS starts right around that price. Sure, it doesn't have a V8 but... I guess that's what's holding us all back.

Seems like Cadillac could make a mint, just from GMI readers, by offering a small SIDI V8 (an aluminum 293cid comes to mind) that pumps out 360 or so horsies, and offering it as a no cost or low cost optional engine - should actually cost GM LESS to make the OHV SIDI than a DOHC SIDI.

I love the CTS but it flat out doesn't have near the same amount of interior room as a G8/Commodore. We have a Saab 9-3 that I am looking to replace because its getting to be a tight fit w/ 2 kids in car seats. In looking through the specs, the CTS is just as small but I can't find another car this side of an Audi A8 that has more space than the G8. Even the Charger/300C isn't as big.

Can anyone figure out how much it would be to ship the "Pontiacs" over to the US? I would love that G8 SportWagon!!!!

I guess I could go into full rant here and blast GM once again about killing Pontiac, and not even giving us an Impala Zeta, but what's the use? Lets face it, GM is NOT going to bring back a Zeta SWB sedan to the US, and they won't sell a LWB version to the public. It going to be their funeral.

Considering it would probably be impounded right after it rolled off the boat (and then crushed) eleventy million dollars, give or take.

If you managed to bribe Customs or whatever, good luck getting it registered and insured.

Having avoided all manner of federal and local prosecution, 5-7 years later when you're done with it, good luck selling it.

Smarter people than you and I have already analyzed all the angles. For a price you could probably bring a body shell over and swap all the G8 bits onto it, but then you'll have a $100,000 station wagon.
