New HSV Grange Luxury-Sports Sedan Is Now On Sale
HSV Launches Australia’s Most Luxurious & Powerful Saloon
Holden Special Vehicles 22 May 2007 www.hsv.com.au Holden Special Vehicles today officially launched WM Grange – a luxury performance limousine with specification and power without peer in Australia. WM Grange represents a substantial investment by HSV and is packed with a range of unique features that sets it apart from its domestic and imported competitors. New Managing Director of HSV Scott Grant said the launch of the all new Grange would give the company fresh sales impetus in what was shaping up as a record year. “This car will truly build on the outstanding sales success HSV has enjoyed over the last eight months, since launching the E-series. April was the company’s eighth record month of sales consecutively, with 475 retail deliveries,” Scott Grant said. In the first four months of 2007 retail deliveries hit 1685, almost double 2006 and well ahead of the equivalent figures for 2005. “There is already a strong order bank for the new model and the HSV Grange is often cited as representing the singularly most popular repeat purchase vehicle in the HSV line up – so we’re confident it will be well received in the marketplace,” Scott Grant said. “In many ways the car is a long wheel based equivalent of the E-series Senator Signature, which has been a runaway sales success. This will be reflected in the marketing campaign we have released to co-incide with Grange launch.” WM Grange retains all of the luxury appointments customers would expect from the top of the range HSV offering, such as dual screen rear DVD player, tri-zone electronic climate control, parking assist and more, while also incorporating the performance characteristics that set HSV vehicles apart from all others. Chief Engineer John Clark oversaw the program that transformed the car into the final powerful package. “We focused on enhancing this car, to improve driveability,” John Clark said. “Individually calibrated Magnetic Ride Control, an LS2 V8 307kW engine, a premium HSV four piston brake package and tailored Electronic Stability Control system, make WM Grange one of our best cars to wear the Lion and Helmet badge”. Chief Designer Julian Quincey worked on giving the car its distinctive, yet subtle HSV design features. “With Grange, we wanted to offer a car that would be defined as an Australian ‘performance and luxury flagship’, without any suggestion of overstating its massive capability” he said. “The car has all the sporting grace of the critically acclaimed Senator Signature with even greater presence.” “Unique exterior touchs include front fascia, grille, discreet rear spoiler and rear lower appliqué, while the interior boasts our exclusive steering wheel and instrumentation. The interior is available in both black and light urban, with an ambience to match the very best of the Europeans.” The HSV WM Grange is priced from $82,990, representing a more than 8% price reduction on the out-going model. The car is available in HSV dealerships across Australia immediately and in New Zealand next month. Big Cellar Byron Mathioudakis 22 May 2007 www.goauto.com.au HSV finally releases its WM Caprice-based LWB Grange flagship sedan. Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has finally launched its long-awaited long-wheelbase version of its successful E Series. The WM Grange has been a while coming. It was unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney last October, before prices were revealed at the Melbourne International Motor Show in March. Priced from $82,900, the latest WM Grange range represents a $7000 drop compared to the $89,950 WL Grange that was discontinued in July last year. On sale this week, HSV is expecting the Grange to continue the trend of its smaller brethren by breaking HSV sales records. Year-to-date in 2007, 1685 HSV vehicles have found homes, double that of the same period last year, and 30 per cent up on 2005’s January to April result. April represented the eighth consecutive month of unprecedented growth for HSV, with 475 units shifted. The company claims it already has a “firm” order bank for its new luxury sedan. Moving the Grange is a Chevrolet-sourced 6.0-litre Gen IV LS2 V8, delivering 307kW of power at 6000rpm and 550Nm of torque at 4400rpm. HSV has launched its most serious attempt at tackling more established luxury Marques with the latest Grange flagship – just don’t expect a bottle of Grange wine to be stashed in the boot. The HSV Grange went on sale this week priced at $82,990, bringing with it more equipment than any locally-produced vehicle and adding a highlight to the company’s line-up as it approaches the brand’s 20th anniversary. The Grange is based on the Holden Caprice – itself a long-wheelbase version of the VE Commodore – and comes with twin DVD screens in the back, a tri-zone climate control ventilation system, Bluetooth phone connection and an advanced damper control system similar to that used in the latest Ferrari 599 and Audi TT. It also gets safety features such as a stability control system and side curtain airbags. Like all long wheelbase Holdens, the Grange gets more leg room than almost every car on the market, making it a favourite with families and limousine companies. And, like all HSV models, it’s beneath the bonnet that the Grange’s appeal is strongest. if GM doesn't bring the full line over here as Pontiacs, Buicks, or both then they'll be missing another opportunity. these cars would certainly sell in the U.S.

That would make for a nice Lucerne or Park Avenue.
